Home Match Day Thread 19/09/20 L1 - OUFC v Sunderland

Agree with much that's been written about the defence here, and it's glaringly obvious that a new (preferably more experienced) CB is needed, as well as cover for Josh Ruffles. Sean Clare was also painfully exposed against Sunderland, and whilst it's too soon to say, if he ends up like a right...

Away Match Day Thread 12/09/20 L1 - Lincoln City v OUFC

A few thoughts: Bit surprised an Appleton team set up like that at home, but perhaps having no fans influenced that, and in fairness it was very effective Did Wycombe, and a few others before that, provide a blueprint for how to beat us? It seems so and we don't really have an effective answer...

    How to complete the season

How do people actually rate the chances that weighted points per game will actually be used, then? The original article in The Athletic says that is the 'current favourite' option, but doesn't really substantiate this and also goes on to suggest that several EFL clubs hadn't even heard the...

    General Jan transfer window

I don't think anyone can fault Sam Long in terms of his work rate and defensive abilities (Karl has said he's the best one on one defender at the club). But Cadden was crucial to one of our most successful patterns of play for months, so a more attacking option at RB would surely be preferable...

    Home Match Day Thread +++ 11/1/2020 OUFC V Rotherham United L1 +++

Shocked to hear so many people complaining about Eastwood. His positioning was all wrong for at least 2 of the goals, but he was punished by an effective and clinical Rotherham side. Archer looked equally shaky at times, and people forget he barely had to make a save against Wycombe and Lincoln...

    General Jan transfer window

Competition for places would be immense if Browne signs. This window may well be starting to prove we mean business.

Is Matty Taylor considered a done deal which is just waiting for confirmation, then?

Transfer News Transfer targets summer 2019

Given we've signed as many players in the last 3 days as the entirety of the rest of the window, it may seem greedy but what's happening with Agyei and Thorne? Especially since they were said to be done deals.

Transfer News Transfer targets summer 2019

I may have misheard, but the 'oooh they're good players' answer Karl gave was in response to Elliot Moore and Thorne, and when Agyei was mentioned he said they'd been in contact with him. Sounds promising...

Transfer News Transfer targets summer 2019

Fair point, Kashi is a good example of that. The reaction when he was brought in seemed negative and he was a big contributor

What are people's thoughts on Agyei? His goalscoring record isn't great but then again Jerome Sinclair's was poor and he did well at the end of last season

Would be a great signing for most league 1 sides

He's been linked with Coventry so looks like he will be loaned out at some point

Transfer News Transfer targets summer 2019

Just seen that Danny Hylton has been linked with a move to various League 2 sides (including Swindon). Wonder if a return to Oxford would be possible? As for Ranger, suppose he would be ok for backup but can hardly imagine him leading the attack against Sunderland in a few weeks.
