Fan's View - Sunderland at home

Funny reading this ahead of Saturday....https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/posh/tawdry-tactics-and-bad-behaviour-1-8809122 The irony coming from this piece when Evan has been your manager...not sure what Alan Swann will make of Mackie 😂

    Tonight’s games

At what point will Sunderland fans realise they won’t be getting promoted this season? Doncaster/Charlton/Portsmouth all better than Sunderland in the play offs.

Its now a standard feature of each match. Our ball carriers are are regularly scythed, the ref doesn't book anyone...we become increasing irritated, we get booked.

Which puts a different slant on 'he should have scored'!

Oxford Ultras - Over & Out

Without being involved, and only looking in from outside, it looks to have become increasingly tough to operate...this weekend: Dont wish to detract from the thread, should be one of thanks for the input of the Ultras over the last decade.

Oxford Ultras - Over & Out

Sorry to see this go. The match day experience will be poorer without it. A shame that (I suspect) the stadium company and current ownership have seen an end to one of the few positives around the club. Thanks for the time and effort to create such displays

Funny that we are being described as 'shithousing' opponents when in reality we are just out fighting them. We don't kick the ball away, buy fouls, waste time. None the less - good to see us properly competing and holding our own

Essentially all chances carried around 15% chance of being scored.

The primary issue, currently with xG is the data available for league 1 and below. Whilst its an indicator, its not as reliable as those in the top 5 leagues. Each xG model will evaluate each chance based on many variables. These could be: Distance from goal Type of pass assisting the attempt...

The pitch is something we need to sort. Considering our style of play is to play to the full back and for them to progress the ball to Whyte/Browne/Graham, I don't see how they can enjoy playing in a sand pit in front of the south stand when they are carrying the ball. Hanson was also caught out...

From what I have read, Experimental361 takes these from the BBC live feed, so not entirely nailed on. Looking at Wyscout, they have the Browne chance at 0.48. Im not familiar with the Wyscout model, however I would have anticipated the Browne chance to be larger than that highlighted by...

The one thing in our favour is he clearly has some sort of affinity to Oxford. It’s the only place he has received decent match time and been appreciated. Another move to the championship to sit on the bench? If, asKR alluded to there could be money on the horizon, I don’t see why keeping...

How many chances did Sunderland have. How many attempts did Grigg and Wyke have? A pretty expensive forward line! Tough to criticise the defence. Hanson is perfectly fine at RB. Nothing amazing but is better on the ball than Ruffels

Has kept Sunderland in it all season. Mackie did everything right with his header. It was just a very good save

I mean, we did score vs Barnsley doing this along with Burton having a man set off following long balls behind the defence.

As always, the best judge of these things: Essentially everything that has happened for them this season. Keeper keeps them in it, create very little but somehow score. They were lucky to get out of it with a point

    Data bits

Just had a look...taking the delivery out, the defensive structures are pretty different: Those free men in the six yard box looked to mop must corners vs Burton.
