Home Match Day Thread +++ 17/11/2018 OUFC v Gillingham FC +++

At work today, so online for the game - but as usual outside RadOx range so relying on this forum and BBC site for updates.
Edgy 1-0 - Eastwood MOM, Spasov misses penalty, changing room robbed during first half, player subbed in first 15 mins, canny Gills centre-half gets Bradbury sent off, Pekalski not allowed in ground as no-one recognises him, Ranger no longer training with us, Raglan finishes game as emergency forward
Yeah, spot on - except every single prediction apart from the score!

What a win considering (lack of) squad depth, the type we need to grind out to get up the table. Defence + Dickie especially back to their best for another clean sheet, COYY

A scrappy performance today, but considering how many unfit players we had in the team, and inexperience in the squad, no complaints really! The penalty was soft, but very much in the vein of strange decisions given by the Ref all game. Quite how Fuller wasn't booked still mystifies me.

Our progress upwards continues. I thought Bradbury was ok, he put himself about but barely touched the ball. A player that needs a lot of work, but seems to have the right attitude to get on. If he fails, he won't wonder if he could have given any more.

Another thing to consider. What a great day for the young lads on the bench to be involved in. A battling, professional performance and a happy dressing room tonight. A good experience for them in their education at OUFC

Oh, and did Tom Eaves ever watch the ball, rather than obsessing about tugging the centre backs, etc. Talented, but needs to move on to develop his career

Hi Bob. Yep, a decent result today. No complaints from me.

Defence solid. Blunt as anything up front.

Not the best of games, but it’s about results I’m afraid, especially where we are in the league.

Not sure where KR thought the crowd was awesome today? Could hear a pin drop at times, atmosphere was bloody awful.

Was worried before the game how we were going to contain Eaves, should not have, Dickie was superb. Josh an unsung warrior as well. H Bradbury work in progress but those centre backs sure knew he was there when he came on. Smith in the right place much of the time but at the moment you just don't feel he's on it at the moment, missed his chance to shine me thinks. Well ground out result, onwards and upwards now we've crossed that bloody line.

Thought today was a gritty performance, and restricted them to a couple of chances. There is no doubt the defence has improved dramatically, but I think that’s due to the fact Mous is better in front of the centre half’s, and a decent shout out to Ruffels!

Nelson and Dickie starting to play like they did towards the end of last season. I think we need to wave the money to CN and get him to sign a new contract urgently.

Another solid three points at home. Bradford next week away looking forward to it.

Scrappy game and performance, but considering the injuries and "bare bones" nature of the bench I'd certainly have taken that before the start.
Easty as solid as ever, Dickie great, proper centre half performance and the rest of the back three backed him up well.... Mous was a good shield in front... every single one of them put in a good shift and showed a lot of A*****e to battle through to three points. Well done to all players and coaching staff.
