Away Match Day Thread +++ 3/11/2018 Scunthorpe United v OUFC +++

Over the years, it has become really obvious how much of a gamble signing (or loaning in) injured players is. At best they take a while to get fit and then get up to match pace (which, especially if they are signed as key players means an almost inevitable slow start to their time at the club), at worst it turns out the the injury is recurrent, getting worse or even career ending.

Carruthers. Looks like he could give Jon Narbett a run for his money.

Afternoon folks. Big win for the mighty Yellows today. 3 or 4-0. But a 1-0 win will do.

COME ON YOU YELLOWS

It is...there's apparently 5 minutes (or 10 or 20) of silence that we're waiting to come to an end

Yes, that's why I said a gamble. We have had the rough end of the stick doing it recently and I wonder if it's wiser to limit the number of such signings in any one window - tempting though the idea of getting a good player on the cheap might be!

Oh good the match has kicked in! COYY

Playing wise during his time with us, no doubt.
Taking into account his massive health problems since as a result, not so sure I'd classify it as "lucky".
