Considering moving to Non League ground

After the reply from Kassam today, I suggest you shut up and learn and understand what is actually going on.

You have always been a great fan and admirer of Kassam, anything you say has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Absolute disgrace the way our football club has been treated by your good friend.

The fact the place is a 'shithole' is actually neither here nor there. It's called arbitration for a reason, because they cannot agree or resolve the other's obligations etc. I suspect both parties are at fault. The article in the OXMAIL talks about or finishes, that there is a solution and Tiger eluded to sorting it too. Club need to move McWilliams on from negotiations and get someone else on it. The forum at the weekend was farcical.

The pitch that was relaid was done at Daryl's cost, the club at the time wanted a better pitch than the one 'provided under the agreement'. By the way the pitch that was provided prior to the relaying of the new one, I accept was awful - but that's what the club signed up too.

Are you sure that you served on the Oxvox committee for the good of Oxford United or did you have a personal agenda? Just asking as you always seem to side with Kassam. We have had three owners who have all indicated that the club is being shafted by the Landlord.

It's called balance.

Fantactic reply. Made me smile.

I've never been friends with Mr Kassam.

The first owner signed a ridiculous rental agreement - you know, the one that the other owners have since had to suck up. How about pointing the finger of blame to those? ;)

You have always sided with Kassam and not our football club, end of. Three previous owners have all said the same about the landlord and now that Tiger has confirmed what most of us have known for years you don’t like it. As for your « the forum was a shambles »at least it has finally told us the truth and not withheld information from the fans.

The first owner was Kassam or have you forgotten that fact. Yet again you side with Kassam rather than those who owned the club. Disgraceful

I would say that the fact the stadium is a shithole is pretty important.

What truth ?
Anything new that we didn't know before.

Despite the evidence to the contrary? Actions speak louder than words at the end of the day. Based on your responses over the last couple of pages I can see why you kept your opinions to yourself when you were on the Oxvox committee, you would have alienated the vast majority of the membership!

This is a man who was number 371 on the Sunday Times Rich List in 2017, almost £100m wealthier than Duncan Bannatyne (Dragons Den) as a comparison. The Queen finished outside the top 300 in 2018.

So, not short of a penny and "has the clubs best interests at heart", likes to preach about being "the custodian of the club", yet won't even let OUFC keep the income of the concourse food and drink. Beggars belief. I know you have to be ruthless to be successful in business, and credit to him for getting to where he is, but at this point in time he's still ruthlessly sucking the club dry, a club which tries to do so much good in the local community too. Horrid, insipid human being. The jury is still out on Tigers ownership but I'm right behind him when it comes to dealing with FK.

He's made his millions on the back of exploiting the weakest in society and lives as a tax-exile from the country which welcomed him as a young immigrant. Not sure how much "credit" he deserves...

Yes, very true! He truly is scum. Not an ounce of emotion towards OUFC and he never will have, unleashing the clubs potential will probably have to wait until we are free from him, unfortunately.

2 things.
Why would FK give something to another business man to make money?
I’m still unsure what people think will happen if we got the money together to buy the stadium, assuming that’s what you mean by potential.

He's not obliged to, but I doubt he'd ever notice the difference if he did, whereas the club certainly would. He'd rather bleed the club to the last penny than make any sort of gesture like that, yet you'll still see quotes from him in the paper pretending to be the good guy. He likes to string people along.

And that's not what I mean at all, but we'll never hit our full potential whilst paying him huge rent and being unable to generate our own income through stadium revenue, building on the land around the stadium etc etc.

If you haven't noticed we have another business man who owns the club, I think all the rhetoric towards FK rightly or wrongly is missing the point, OUFC will not profit from anything FK does towards the club, that will go into Tigers pocket or DE before.
The people who buy our club are there to make money, there is too much sentiment wrapped up in football and I can't see how the club itself will ever benefit from any business carried out, that money goes straight into the pockets of the owners.
We have to be careful that the club (OUFC) do not get lumbered with debt, while everyone is thinking we should be rolling in money from the business being done.

The club will never hit it's full potential as you see it, the owners at the time will cream it off.

I think there's a lot of assumptions there but totally agree regarding rising debt levels. If an owner wants to profit at a later date then fine but that would usually require a promotion down the line! I see sustainable championship football as full potential, with double/triple the average attendance. Can't see that ever being possible whilst FK has a hold on the club in some form.

My main concern is that Tiger isn't going to do what Firoz did.

Ie move us into a new stadium and then charge the club a fortune to use it.

I’ve just got home from work so not caught up with all the events today and comments on here but I’ve just read the article in the OM regarding Kassam response. Some of it is quite laughable, they’re supposed to be top businessman but they’re - particularly Kassam - are coming across like petulant children. The last paragraph almost made me chuckle. Anyone else get the feeling this little squabble is going to blow over and a year from now absolutely nothing will have changed?
