Considering moving to Non League ground

Two rumours I’ve heard today is a serious look at developing CPF ( not sure if that was for long term or interim use) and redeveloping the Greyhound/speedway stadium. Not sure if they would be at all viable but it would be interesting to know the square meterage of the footprints of each place and compare that with what’s required for a decent stadium with parking.
Seems strange and unrealistic to me, why spend money getting out of the lease, spend big money on either site to bring it up to FL standard? Why not just buy the ground then stay there until a new ground is built, then sell the old ground for houses to recoup some money.
I’m sure Tiger has attracted all these financial heavy hitters to buy an empty dog track or a plastic pitch surrounded by a railing.

I can’t argue with what you’re saying but the bullish nature of today’s FF have surely ended any realistic hopes of any sort of agreement being reached with FK?

I think KR floated the idea of installing a grass pitch and temporary stand at CPF suggesting he sees it as a temporary stop-gap

I take as I find.

I met him, luckily through my role as an officer at OXVOX, on multiple occasions throughout 2017 & the Trust spoke with him regularly, fortnightly probably for over 18 months, until Jem and I departed the committee in April.

I am sticking my neck out here, but I think he is quite prepared to have sensible conversations, with the key decision makers at the football club & has clearly had conversations already - which probably upset some people. I doubt FK has much time for trouble-makers or people who are running to The Times or Henry Winter trying to be clever, causing trouble for our football club - regardless of those people's intentions. If Firoka (at the stadium) are being awkward - I have no doubt they are - then frankly we need sensible business minded people who can deal with those issues and challenges. I don't see much evidence of that. So time to put up or shut up.

We moved on from Daryl/Dalton's/Lee's silly talk, confrontation of the Supporters Trust and stupid talk of moving football grounds, but seem to have some who want to go back there, probably being prodded along the way. Question is why?

Since Tiger has rocked up, he has already demonstrated some of what he can bring, Thai Airways and Singha Beer for starters, two new board members, no doubt others in the pipeline. What he needs to do, is take control along with others who can bring added value and remove those who seem to want to go down a different path.

Nice thing about not being involved on the Supporters Trust, is I can freely speak my mind. Roll on the Fans Forum.

Well I believe after today’s Fans Forum, you make wish to wind your neck back in. Tiger has made it very clear as to how he sees Kassam.

I think you will find that the Sunderland owner explained why it did not make financial sense to buy the stadium plus all thé additional costs. Also has Kassam ever given a price he would accept? Has Kassam any intention of selling an asset which will increase 10 fold as soon as it had got planning permission for housing. Over the next 7 years he is guaranteed a very good income from the club and third party rents/hire. If the club finds a new home he will still be quids in and will have a greater chance of applying for planning and sell the land to a major developer who will quite happily sit on the land and it’s increasing value. Kassam is an a**e, but he knows how to make money and manipulate the opposition. Tiger has a fight on his hands and let’s all hope he comes out the winner.

I know all what SD said as I quote it all the time, but I never said use the stadium as an ongoing concern and spending all the extra money needed to make it a ground fit to stay long term in, but a short term stop gap IF there really is a compulsion to build another ground.

Radox said tonight that the club have been mulling over going public about the stadium for weeks. The fact they now have suggests they have given up ever getting anywhere with Kassam. They said as much today at the FF - 'we've wasted too much time negotiating over the current stadium' (or words to that effect)

Who would have given Tiger thé impression that Kassam was a reasonable man to deal with? I’m sure if he spoke to the right people when he was considering buying the club they would have told him straight. In addition it was public knowledge and widely know that DE had been having issues as well as the previous owner of OUFC. Somehow Tiger was convinced that Kassam was a reasonable person to deal with.

According to Tiger «
ST: There's an agreement and three years ago Darryl Eales questioned it. Over the years there have been a lot of grey areas. Darryl questioned it and I've inherited it.
The situation has become more difficult and the relationship has become worse. I travelled to Monaco with Niall to meet with Mr Kassam and try to find a compromise.
We were very poorly treated by the stadium company, the rent has gone up from 500k to almost £1m.
NM: It includes things like the service charge. When you compare it to other stadiums we're concerned by the disparities.

It blows away any hope that the custodian of the club has any real love of OUFC no matter what others have been telling us.

Let me think..

Tiger: Well Darryl, one last question before I agree to take the club off your hands, clear your responsibility of it and hand over a couple of million quid, is Firoz an ok dude to deal with..?

Darryl: Er..erm.. yes, of course. Lovely chap!

?

This situation should be passed to the red tops and mainstream media.

The slum landlord is no doubt a good business man but a stain on humanity!

Who would of the right people of been then?
Not "the other group" trying to buy the stadium :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
You are amusing at some of the stuff you post, not quite thought out..

After the reply from Kassam today, I suggest you shut up and learn and understand what is actually going on.

If the rat who owns the stadium wants to be paid then the services he wants to be paid for need to be carried out and that's not been done in years either, the place is a shithole!

The fact the place is a 'shithole' is actually neither here nor there. It's called arbitration for a reason, because they cannot agree or resolve the other's obligations etc. I suspect both parties are at fault. The article in the OXMAIL talks about or finishes, that there is a solution and Tiger eluded to sorting it too. Club need to move McWilliams on from negotiations and get someone else on it. The forum at the weekend was farcical.

The pitch that was relaid was done at Daryl's cost, the club at the time wanted a better pitch than the one 'provided under the agreement'. By the way the pitch that was provided prior to the relaying of the new one, I accept was awful - but that's what the club signed up too.

I would really like to see the ground leasing document, has OXVOX ever had access to it?
