Plus MAPP had a better track record prior to coming to Oxford than Robinson had, and MAPP's ability to spot effective players is better than Robinson's (judging by the overall poor quality of the acquisitions this summer).
The first part of your statement as well as most of Bazzers is simply not true.

Don’t want to sound like some old boy, but apart from a dangerous striker what we really lack is passion and intensity. Lots of possession and good play but nothing very aggressive or threatening. The soulless ground and lack of atmosphere could be a factor I guess

In the first part of my comment I was referring to track record in football, whereby MAPP learned stuff at the highest level as a player and spent time at bigger clubs than Robinson.
In any case, sadly it's the second part of my comment that we are stuck with!

What?

MApp's name was pretty much dirt when he arrived at us, he'd failed at every club he'd been at (not necessarily through any fault of his own, they were basket case clubs), but we had no reason to give him the benefit of the doubt.

And yeah, he brought in players like Roofe and Lunny. But he also spent 6 figures on Kane Hemmings and brought in some terrible loanees. Remember George Waring and Jordan Evans? They're now at Tranmere (having spent last year on loan at Kidderminster) and Cefn Druids (me neither) respectively. You can't definitively say Appleton was better at spotting talent than KR is after one window. Didn't we also have a brilliant head of recruitment during MApp's time who left?

See what @ttg17 said.

Also check Robinsons record at MK.

No MAPP wasn’t when he first came here, it took time for AshTon to get things set in motion, when they arrived they had to get players in as the only player acquired was Hylton and yes the players they got in on loan were not much cop and yes people me included were calling for MAPP’s head but DE stuck with him and January came along and Baldock and Roofe were brought in and that did steady the ship so to speak.
Them a scouting network was set up and we reaped benefits of that system and as far as I’m aware the only injured player brought in was Robbie Hall the others Ledson, Maguire, Baldock, Lundstram, Roofe, Rothwell and Easty turned out ok. But compare that to what have come in and the injuries that have come with them.......

But that's exactly the point right? Why wouldn't KR be given the same opportunity?

Robinson seems to be well in with Tiger and deserves more time - there is some promising stuff there. But obviously if we keep on losing home games he will eventually pay the price

Not saying we should get rid of KR, but in answer to your question, with MApp there seemed a plan, whereas, with Karl I sometimes wonder what the bigger picture is or even if there is one.

I mean, honestly, yeah, I am. I think there is value in letting a manager, especially a proven one like KR (to my eyes) take some time to develop a team.

If the club had taken your stance 4 years ago, Michael Appleton would have been replaced. He too had had a summer to recruit, and come 11 October (about 3 weeks away from where we are now), we were 23rd in the L2 table, with 10 points from 12 games having just got stuffed by Cambridge. We stuck with him, we ended up fine that season, mid table, and the rest is history. I don't see why there's this perceived need to just get rid of a manager as soon as things don't immediately go right, especially with a manager who has shown he can get teams out of this league,

Everything else you've said is well-argued, but this simply isn't true. MApp came in on 4th July, only 8 days before his first preseason match. He inherited a shell of a squad and had less than a month to put a squad together.

There have been a lot of MApp/KR comparisons, but I don't think their situations correlate. When MApp came in, so did a new owner and new managing director. There was a complete overhaul of the club from top to bottom, and a recruitment team had to be sourced quickly. Faz was only appointed two weeks before our first league game.

KR has had something that MApp didn't have - time. When KR arrived, he did a decent job to keep us up (I don't think our squad was as bad as everyone was saying). When he came into the building we already had a coaching setup, scouting, recruitment, a managing director, and an owner who had had a month or two to settle down. KR had the whole summer to fill the holes in the squad and build a proper side - but despite bullishly saying all his business would be done early, we were signing players who were not fit and hadn't had proper pre-season with us.

In terms of results, yes MApp's weren't great to begin with, but everyone could recognise what he was trying to do - even though results weren't going our way we played with a clear style, and we were getting better at game-by-game. With KR, there is no master plan. He doesn't take responsibility for anything, it's always someone else's fault. With App you always felt like he knew his side was a work in progress - he was patient so we were too. KR is anything but patient.

FFS... When we get to January. Appart from the season being over..
is it more crocked stock being embraced.....

If you play one up top and your options are Smith or Obika then you deserve to be sacked, neither can do it, he is a tactical retard.

Difficult to disagree. This formation relies so heavily on the one man up front, and none of our strikers are up to the role. We have to look at 442.

Absolutely.
Walsall played a counter attacking 4-4-2 perfectly. Their players were no better than ours but as a team they all knew their roles.
We do not have a striker who can play the lone role. It's so worrying KR can't see it and won't change. He seems to think that it will come good eventually. Again worrying!!

Don't start making excuses for KR that's the one thing that he can do himself.

Great post, says it all in a nutshell. The point is moot however, Robinson has the safest job in football as far as Tiger is concerned. He’s bomb proof. I think some of KRs slightly arrogant post match interviews reveal that.

Yellow bow
Do you think so,not sure if you heard the KR interview after the game but when asked about the game next weekend he seemed unsure and said something like "Let's wait and see what happens"
He could have been referring to injuries etc but I got the impression he knows he hasn't got long to turn things round and he has to rely on players out of form and low on confidence.
