Disappointing not to win - but as I said at half time, we paid the price for not scoring when we really had them under the cosh. I thought Akinfenwa changed the game when he came on - CMS, for all his antics, was largely bullied out of the game. The Beast gave them ball retention and presence up front, meaning they were continually able to regain their shape and make a better job of nullifying Whyte & Holmes (who were also tiring).

Just listened to KR’s post-match interview. I admire his passion, and the way we set out to play today was commendable. But he really needs to take a deep breath and compose himself for longer before talking to the press. Some of his comments were just bewildering - and the lengthy referee sob stories every week are starting to become infuriating. It’s League One, the ref’s are sh*t most weeks! Get a grip man...
Compare that to Garbutt, who is an inexperienced pro, but sounded composed, resisted prompts to get involved in pointless ref-bashing and spoke incredibly well.

And I’m not taking the ‘big players in January’ comment that seriously. All that means is we want to strengthen. ‘Big players’ aren’t going to queue up to come play for a team slumming it in a relegation dog fight. Meaning if KR wants them in he’s going to have to improve our form substantially.

Overall I’m unsure how to interpret that result. We played superbly at times...but other than a couple of scrambles plus Holmes & Nelson’s chances the end product once we reached the final third was disappointing. Wycombe didn’t look a particularly good team though - and failing to convert dominance into a victory felt very much like points dropped rather than one gained. In the end it’s not hard to see why both sides are struggling...fingers crossed we are going to become upwardly mobile from this point!

I wasn’t slagging off the team....I’ve barely commented on the performance and acknowledged that they should have won in the small part I did.

But that doesn’t change the fact that they still didn’t win or score, If our best performance for some time doesn’t result in either of these then there is clearly still issues that a draw with Wycombe does not hide.

The fact is their manager has them playing in a way that gets the absolute maximum out of his players, can you say the same about our manager?

I actually don’t think it is the “team” which is the problem, I think it is Robinson who every week blames other things for the failure to win, whether it is the ref, an individual, or the injury to Eastwood.

At no point have I heard him actually take some responsibility for the lack of points on the board so far.

The truth is, against Coventry we looked a hell of a lot more dangerous when we started hitting balls into channels than when we were passing it across our back four.....surely this suggests that it may Ben prudent to try and play this way a little more from the start rather than effectively wasting 75 mins of the game playing in front of the opposition.

Until Robinson accepts that his way is not working we will continue to struggle to win games.

I’ve seen nothing so far, despite a reasonable performance today, to suggest that the current style/system/tactics/whatever you want to call it will keep us up.

The players are good enough (I’ve seen i Myself) is the manager?

I really hope so but I don’t see it.
 
Watching the highlights... The Wycombe player who just casually wonders past Brannagan as he's face down badly injured... You're a t**t. Looking out for a fellow professional? Nah, sod that.

Ok.lets agree to disagree.
We were very poor v Coventry but they got the huge break we didn't today (huge deflection to get first goal)
In the other two games in my view we looked nowhere near a relegation side. Both at Sunderland and Wycombe we should have won.
That is not to suggest that we haven't problems. We do have. But today we played against a team that gets in your face. I was concerned before the game.
But we battled later attractive football and should have won.
Whyte Baptiste and the two CBs were excellent in my view Holmes want bad and Norman.

Yes Garbutt did sound like a good guy. We seem to have quite a few intelligent players. Just need a beast up front!
 
I really enjoyed the match, one of the most exciting goalless draws I have seen, unless my memory is going. Also the first time I have been impressed with the team since we won at Millwall in Appleton's last match. We got through their defence so often but, as usual, lacked the finishing touch. All the loose balls in the penalty area fell to their defenders who reacted quicker than our forwards. Thought Obika had one of his better games, but is unfortunately too limited in ability for this division. I had no problem with his commitment today. With a sharp striker who can anticipate the quality of Baptiste and Whyte, we could start to accumulate points.

Just knew The Beast would cause us problems when he came on. Well done the lino!

Hopefully it's when we played Yeovil a couple of seasons ago - a clean sheet can start a run (and Nelson will do a Dunkley and drive on from this match) COYY
 
The thing is regarding using the Sunderland performance as a sign of encouragement doesn’t really wash with me.

We played against 10 men for a large amount of time and failed to see the game out.

Had this been against a Premier League Sunderland then of course, great result but the fact is this was against probably the worst group of players they have had in a long time.

They have also drawn at home to Fleetwood and lost this week against Burton, both sides who from what I’ve seen are average.

As I’ve said, the players aren’t really my concern, it’s the manager who in my opinion is too insistent on playing a certain way, which more often than hasn’t worked this season (results and performances speak for themselves) and making excuses for why we didn’t win.

Aslong as you make excuses and don’t address the real issues they will continue.

All teams who go down will have the odd good performance or result, which often come in places you may not expect, this is exactly what we have done.

Relegated sides also often lose games at home against sides you wouldn’t expect them to lose to..... sounding familiar?

The next 6 games, all against sides that before the season started we would probably have considered as worse than us have to bring atleast 10 points in my opinion, anything less and we really will be in trouble.

None of Robinson’s reign so far has seen us accumulate this number of points per game, the truth is, his record whilst here over a season would see us relegated.

So this is why I am unable to share some of the same optimism after a draw that we failed to score in against the 19th placed team.

They also drop points in games they should have one (having said that, we were fortunate to have the goal against us schalked off yesterday in my opinion. Look at Nelson’s reaction when it goes in, he’s certianly not appealing for a foul or off-side). For all of Robinson’s excuses about bad referees and bad luck, the table doesn’t lie. As you say, we need to start picking up points if we’re as talented as a lot of people are saying.
