I’d love Holmes to sign as much as anyone - but we need to sign the defensively minded centre midfielder fast. Ruffels and Brannagan are too similar and too lightweight. They may as well be in the dressing room for all the impact they’ve made in the game.

Karacan, Ince, another unidentified ‘powerhouse’. There is NOTHING in the middle of our team to break up play or put a foot in. I’m not sure we’ve made a single tackle since Carruthers went off. Worrying...
 
Half time team talk will get us going, KR tended to improve things after half time last season so reckon we will score in the 2nd half.... Whether we can score more than one is another question
 
We are being g taught a lesson here, very much second best
 
Carruthers lasts 25 mins or so. We are playing very poor, no shape. 11 individuals.
 
DIdnt expect anything today, the gap between the championship and league one was likely to tell and we have a newish team, think it might be a hard first month or so before we pick up.

Hopefully I am being massively pessimistic and we come back.

There’s a fear in their mindset, but why? It really shows that Rothwell and Ledson haven’t been replaced.
 
Shape is very poor but they're clearly having to get used to one another. Was Eastwood partially to blame for the first goal? Or did an unlucky bobble beat him?

By sound of it was lucky to get away with a couple of handling errors
 
It's so odd that the players don't know what they're meant to be doing. Robinson has had all of pre-season to work on shape, tactics and scenarios; so why do we look so lost in the first game of the season?
 
But for Eastwood, Nels and Dickie this would already be a cricket score...
