All entirely possible, and doable! If you want someone you can get it done quite quickly.
I was more on about the hat trick 😝 no one knows if we are close to a striker or not there's noises but until the contract is signed anything is possible

i for one could care about the cups....the thrill the experience..the chopping big teams heads off...if you dont care about the cups you need to stop following football
I care about the cups but I care more about the league… I’d like to keep following football though please

Quite!

You pick up the phone “ hello KR here how much are you willing to accept for such and such”. We would listen to offers around this mark. “Great here you go tell him to come and have talks with us”.

The player arrives loves the training facilities and clubs ambitions. Here’s what we will offer you! Player puts ink on paper, and plays Saturday against Bristol Rovers, and scores a hat trick. Job done.
Then his agent says ' hold on a minute ' ' don't be hasty son ' !!!!

A week ago we had some posters saying that Dan Harris left because of Robinson not giving youngsters a chance. Now with have those saying that Golding isn't good enough after one average performance in a new position against a Championship side.

I'm not against Goodrham or Golding going out on loan, as long as they are the right loans at a decent level to continue their development. But equally, I'd be happy with them remaining part of the squad as I think both are good enough to step in when required.

They’re both highly talented and they should stay with the squad.

I agree. Yes, of course, the League is the priority, but Cup completions often offer great entertainment and excitement. Last night, for example. I really don't see why the Club can't prioritise both.

Getting your excuses in early again.

You can also be ruthlessly efficient, it's not always a case of OUFC dancing to the tune of the selling club/player/agents/other interested parties.

I know it's not simple, business of this nature rarely is - but you are always so quick to line up a plethora of possible excuses when in reality we may be further along than you realise.

Look how ruthlessly efficient we were in re-signing Cam Bran when it was needed.

You need to be more positive.

Someone says that it should be easy getting deals done, I counter that with reasons why it's not so easy, and you say that I'm getting my excuses in early!!!

I'm confident that we'll get 3 or 4 more players in, and all will be able to strengthen the first team rather than being squad make weights. But because of the calibre of players we're looking at, they may take a little longer to get done.

Lewis Bate had interest from the Championship. Kyle Joseph has interest from Sheffield Wednesday. Brandon Thomas-Asante was on the radar of Ipswich, Wigan, Swansea and others. Previously Tyler Morton was a toss up between us and Blackburn. Sammie Szmodics was a virtually done deal in January but has sold for £2.5m.

We're fishing in very different waters and with very different levels of competition. Suggesting that we have to have a little extra patience is neither a case of being negative or making excuses. It's common sense!

I would actually be making this decision on Golding & Goodrham on August 31st.

By that time they should have played in both the Carabao Cup 2nd round & the JPT game against Orient.

If they've shown enough by then that we're confident they're going to play serious minutes in the league this season, then yes, absolutely, keep them here.

But if we've decided that they're not quite as good as other options for 2022/23, and especially if we've also brought in another couple of defenders and a winger, and they're just going to be sat on the bench making a five minute cameo here and there - then they'd be better off on loan, playing regularly.

Though I'm already certain they're good enough to play at National League level. I wouldn't want to be aiming lower than that.

Depending on league form etc they may not play against Palace. But JPT deffo.

Sometimes it’s better to take the longer view with younger players, they may benefit more from going out on loan and if that is the case the fair enough.

Goodrham is older and looks a bit further on to me, plus it’s easier for attackers to play at a young age, especially in this new 5 subs era. Only problem is we will probably have 8 wingers come deadline day.

Other lad is very young and inexperienced, if he can get 35 games at Banbury that may well benefit him and us more than sitting on the bench.

Because the very definition of ‘prioritise’ (eg make one thing more important than others) means that doesn’t make sense…

They’ve shown enough already. In my opinion.

Yes I think they’re beyond non league loans and would learn more from training with the full squad.

A month or 3 out at a NL side throughout the season if they aren't getting regular minutes would be worth it. Can play it month by month if a club/s is willing to go along with it as they aren't limited by transfer windows to near the end of the season. So can do a mix to get the benefit of both.
