Pre match Rovers chat, remember it's a 1230 KO, video stream on iFollow in the UK and overseas.

I think we will see them off. They will be geared up for it, but whether the storm for the first 20 mins, or score early, then we can pick them off.

We have far too much quality for them.

Yes they beat us in the cup, but to be honest I felt like we gifted that to them, rather than earning it.

We should be looking to get in behind there defence, because I think there quite weak at the back.

Rovers 1-3 OUFC

I’d take a point (I predict 1-1) followed by 2 home wins next week.

Eastwood
Long Moore Findlay Brown
Brannagan McGuane Bate
Bodin Taylor Browne

Subs: McGinty, Seddon, Gorrin, Henry, Murphy, Goodrham, Joseph

I've said it on the other thread, and I'm doubling-down on it - big win incoming and our first real marker this season.

- OUFC to score at least 3 goals.
- At least 2 of our goals to be scored within 8 minutes of each other.
- At least 1 goal scored by Marcus Browne.

If anyone wants to price that up for me as an accumulator that would be lovely.

Yeah, think that's the team I would pick as well.

Although there's a case to be made for playing Goodrham instead of Bodin. Give the kid some more game time while he's rolling.....

Oh how very kind of Bristol, we are allowed to take open bottles of water into the ground. They intend removing the caps of all bottles. How bloody petty minded and stupid.
34degrees+ expected and we will not be allowed a sealed bottle of water. Sod off you muppets!

Was about to post the same article. Reading their forum, saw this:

"I'll be taking my own drink to every match this season after being charged £2 for the worlds smallest bottle of water at the FGR game. Absolute pi$$ take"..... so worth taking your own despite the petty "tops off" rule

That is very petty from rovers it's going to be roasting on Saturday nah I'm glad I'm giving this one a miss not because of the price but family arrangements hats off to anybody that stands on that open terrace maybe keep your hats on actually but take tops off and apply sun lotion,😂

But be ready to lose the caps off your sun protection as well!

I bet you and Mrs lounger are right yobbos 😄
Bloody right we are!

Text of email sent to Clare McDonagh, SLO Bristol Rovers:

I understand from your news item that it is the intended policy for the game on Saturday to allow water bottles into the ground but remove the caps from the bottles.

This seems to be a very unhelpful and less than safe policy to enforce. Temperatures are expected to exceed 34 degrees and with some of our support (OUFC) on an open terrace and others under the flimsy tent behind the goal, many will feel particularly dehydrated. Others will be vulnerable to sun damage and some, like my Wife, will require a bottle of water in case of a medical episode – she suffers from migraines and needs to have the proper medication to hand and water to take said medication. Those on the terraces will be standing with nowhere safe to put an open bottle and those of us under the tent will have little room at our feet and none safe from bottles being knocked over.

I cannot see how the intended policy is going to assist those supporters who have already paid out for tickets priced in excess of any other club in League 1 and will have had difficulties travelling for such an early kick off. It must also be stated that in such times, any additional financial outlay is difficult for most and the price of drinks at football grounds is renowned for being expensive. To prevent fans from taking drinks into the ground in a safe manner is illogical.

I would be grateful if this policy was revisited and changed in time for the game. Some common sense needs to prevail.

Response received:

I will pass your email onto our safety officer James.

We shall see what happens tomorrow. I would bet that nothing further is heard but, let's see what James has to say.
James will pass it on to Sam... Sam will then pass it on to norman and nothing will happen

If you've got kids your understand 😄
