It seems like the club are really pushing for it this season from a financial perspective. Considering how much he has been backed this summer, do we think this could be KR's last season if we fall short again?

Let's turn a positive into a negative eh?
It’s a fair question.

Too much riding on it for the Board’s expectations not to be extremely high. Championship football will aid the case for SB enormously and they’re clearly backing the manager in a way no previous incumbent has enjoyed.

It’s probably not a binary question, but if his contract isn’t extended before the end of the season, I think he’ll be visited by the Spanish Archer shortly after.

It’s not a negative, it’s the reality of a set of owners wishing to transform a club from one with perpetual potential to one that delivers on it.

KR himself wants it, I’m sure, and he’ll understand the stakes.

Don't think there's anything going on at the moment that warrants talking about KR's job. He's assembling a good squad with a few weeks to go - the panic appears to be dying down now but we know there's spots to be filled. 3 points from 2 tricky games where 2 draws would have been respectable and through to the next round of the cup. Performances need to be a bit more convincing but on plenty of occasions we have been critical of playing well and losing. So it's nice to be the side that can play poorly and win. Not perfect, but encouraging. Carry on with the job at hand Karl... Doing just fine :)

Robbo won't be going anywhere soon unless it goes disastrously wrong this season, I'm talking relegation scrap. The club is in good hands, he's a stable manager for us and we have a solid foundation to now push on, for the first time in a lot of our fanbase's lifetime.

Let's enjoy the season and get rid of this negativity that some fans love to cling on to and further their agenda against the manager. Hopefully Karl Robinson can manage Oxford United in the Championship very soon!

It was just a question of whether the board's expectations have risen due to the summer expenditure and what that means for the manager's position if we aren't able to kick on from last season. Do they stick by him if we go close or will they be more ruthless now the stakes are higher?

Don't really see that as negativity in any way tbh.

It's worth making the point that they're assembling him quite an expensive squad now and judging by his grin with each one, they are his choices. He's like a kid at Christmas with every one. So, they're buying his players and that tells me the board absolutely believe in a future with him - otherwise, the time to sack him was at the beginning of the summer with a blank canvas to work with and time on their side. These very experienced, smart, knowledgeable, wealthy football business people are investing deeply in his philosophy. So.... He can't be as stupid as some make out.
