It really doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong. This season, more than ever before, very little is being talked about in public or behind the scenes. @UTO @WEYellow and @Cotswolds Cowboy have been on the button with a lot of what they've posted and bring a lot to the forum, especially during the huge periods of darkness from many others.
As i tried to state before when some were having a pop, there is no right and wrong when involves targets, talks etc. They are correct at the time of posting.

Many quickly got carried away with Bta but the poster never said it was a done deal.

Anyone ITK know which ITK Wins the ITK fight:)

Hate it when people think that they can judge a footballer by some numbers in a column having never watched them.

Bit like XGoT stats and half the forum slating a young man for how many long range shots he conceded. Failing to recognise his illness, his challenger has done the same, his potential, the fact Premier League clubs have been after him, his strengths vs a GK who is at the end of his career etc and the fundamental part of conceding goals is a group effort and responsibility, not an individual one in isolation.

I am livid he's being pushed out, far more than I have been with other players. I saw him last night, five minutes after the final whistle, face like thunder and off to his car. If we send him out on loan, the whole episode becomes even more bizarre.

As for Ed McGinty, other than his erratic first half, his footwork and confidence on the ball is what we should want. I hope he quickly becomes the league keeper and Eastwood can return to sitting on the bench.

Curtis Nelson receiving a lot of stick from Cardiff fans after a shocker last night. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up at Blackpool.

Many valid points, Brahma, but I can't agree that McGinty had confidence on the ball. In fact, anything but in my view. His sole option seemed to be to play it right to Moore, with never a glance to the left. No doubt he'll improve.

Bit of a strange comparison? I understand that you don’t agree with some others’ views on Stevens, but we all watched him last season and we all saw his form dip. The numbers, a far more intricate performance data point than a goals column, we’re league worst bad and backed up what many saw.

Send an out of form and fairly inexperienced player out on loan is a story as old as time. Hardly bizarre. Hopefully he can prove himself and get back to where he was. He should be nowhere near our first team on the back of his performances recently, regardless of interest over a year ago and the illness that may have set him back.

Palace winger going to Charlton.
As expected Swansea forward looks to have choose us over Wednesday. That seemed the case at the weekend. So guessing will join now us on loan now our game with them is done.

I am miffed where all this talk of Hardie bids have come from.
Well, I did think this as well. Never in the know, like yourself, but on this one, got a little more than a nod.
A call was made, an enquiry, but that was it. Which is why it hasn't been burning a hole in the PASOTI website, with out even a mention.

Some of the distribution issues were down to how well Swansea pressed in the 1st half and early 2nd half. When we started getting on top, he was looking to distribute quickly and I can think of a few times off the top of my head when he threw the ball out quickly to Brown/Browne/Goodrham/Brannagan.

He didn't have a good 1st half but definitely started to improve in the 2nd half.

Lovely long break away from all things OUFC related and good to see I've returned to a bit of disagreement on how many times we bid for a player.
My understanding is that one official formal bid went in for Hardie, and anything additional was a bit more of a back and forth loose discussion that never resulted in anything formal being submitted.

Thomas-Asante - Wow, if we were to get this one done (and some distance to go as it stands but could equally wrapup very quickly), it would be some coup. The massive concern here is other clubs getting wind that Salford have a price they're happy with. Would fully expect the agent to play some games in the background as well.

Joseph - happy with that. Even more so that we've got in ahead of Sheff Weds who were trying very hard for him.

I was sat behind the goal and in the 2nd half he picked a couple of very nice touchline passes near the half way line. They were hit reasonably flat, similar to the Cambridge keeper on Saturday, rather than Eastwood style of floating the ball. He also has an obviously big boot if needed. Hopefully the result and penalty save will help him settle and next time he'll be just a little more composed.

Joseph seems to potentially add a lot to our squad in terms of height, style of play as an attacker and the different positions he could fill if needed, so some versatility.

Thomas-Asante I don’t know much about but reading reports on him he would indeed be a bit of a coup. If Salford are prepared to let him go (which is surprising?) I wonder if he has a release clause value? If not then you’d think agents and Salford would make it well known he’s available to maximise their return? Sounds like we might need to get this one done asap (if indeed he is the target?) to stop others gazumping us again possibly?

Haven’t seen a post on this thread about what we ‘need’ for a while - Right Back, Striker, CB/LB, Winger?

What makes you think there’s a toxic atmosphere?

I think it's worth flagging the distinct possibility that a posters primary concern could possibly be anything other than the progress of OUFC.

The poster in question (BigLad) posts almost exclusively (football-wise at least) on Stevens and his merits over and above our other goalkeepers, to counter negative comments about Jack (and from a few years ago) to update on his progress to the first team.

I am not suggesting he is related in any way, but it's quite possible.

Perfectly fair to make points in Jack's favour - but it could be construed as disingenuous if he/she has ulterior motives - namely a desire to see Jack Stevens succeed above all else.

We didn’t.

Exactly what I thought. Nice to see that clarified!

I like the way we went in with a substantial bid, to test Argyles resolve, and can’t blame them for wanting to keep him. January will test them, if Hardie hadn’t signed a new contract, as they risk losing him for free next summer.

Fair play to the club, and board for trying and showing ambition.

The young lad from Salford I heard about yesterday afternoon, and my first thought was hmm not sure, but when I looked closer at his attributes, and various clips of his movement and finishing I changed my thoughts.

I’m all for trying to sign players that are no doubt talented lower down the pyramid, and would come at a lower price. I think should he join us, then I think he will definitely improve us at the top end of the pitch.
