A big mobile quick forward who's runs leave space for others to exploit, of a good age, played in Oxford in past, has worked with KR before, scores 1 in every 5 /6, has already scored 2 this season, still raw with room to develop....... Is it Brandon Thomas-Asante or could we see the return of Agyei????🤔

Agreed. 13 in 46 last season in League 2 has been his best. At 23 (24 in December)you would think he would have done a bit better. Is he really the sort of signing a L1 side with promotion ambitions would make?
Have we gone from Ryan Hardie, who would have been a statement signing to this lad?
What am I missing?

That he’s a player who does a lot more than score goals? Hate it when people think that they can judge a footballer by some numbers in a column having never watched them.

BT-A is one of the most exciting players to watch in L2. A live wire with genuine pace and quality who can play wide or through the middle and has started adding goals to his game. Would be a very popular player here in no time.

Listening to KR‘s interview before the game last night he could barely contain his excitement about Golding as a RB. What are the thoughts of the people who went last night? Does he solve our RB problems?

I’m a fan of Robbo but you really have to dilute what he says. He went way over the top about Kane, didn’t he liken Nico Jones to Bobby Moore or something equally as daft. It’s part of his character but we should know him by now.

No, very raw and confident when he went on a run but too open at defending, not saying with game time he couldn’t be the answer but not right now

I would say no.
He was better going forwards but at times Swansea ripped us to threads down our right side.
My view v Doncaster last season was that he had a lot of potential, but needs to bulk up to play against some if the big Centre Forwards in L1.
Last night, to me, he seemed some time away.
As an aside didn't he sometimes play at RB for Banbury last season or do I have that wrong?

Thought he got better as the game went on. Looked very shaky in the first half; grew into the game a bit.

If his future is as a RB, he needs to play the pizza tin trophy games then go out on loan to get more experience there.

Listed in the interview:
Keepers first start,
Goldings first start,
Wingers first start
Gorrin first start in 10 months
Jones - not started a game in 5 years!! 🤣😂🤣😂

Yes, he wasn’t at it, particularly positionally, last night,. But Golding is very young and is only going to get a lot better. Better than Long going forward already; would not loan him out.

Noticed the mention of Jones and multiple seasons and thought I'd check in.

He did start a cup game for Coventry last season and got through 90mins

Golding to me will be better at RCB in a back 3, he can carry the ball out from defence to break lines but as a RWB you really need to be contributing assists. I'm not sure how much crossing or taking players on is his game. As a RWB in an attacking set up you are basically playing as a winger.

There was lots to like. Strong and confident going forward and made some good runs. Defensively, like most youngsters, he wanted too much time on the ball and was often harried or pushed out of position. Whether that speed of thought comes through playing games is hard to guess but we do have a good track record - it was exactly what Dickie and Atkinson struggled with in their first few matches and they developed fast. In that respect yesterday could have been the ideal first step. Time will tell.

Overall I think last night was a major achievement. For all their soft underbelly and tactical mistakes Swans were several rungs above most teams we'll play this year: athletic, mobile, technically excellent. Despite that they rarely cut us open and tbh all the goals last night were scrappy efforts born of errors. That we needed old heads to fight it out in the second half shouldn't surprise us.

Good point. Might need a pizza game against weaker opposition to get a feel for that I guess.

Golding showed he has attacking potential considering his 2 runs that lasted most the pitch, beating his opponent a few times, and he put a few crosses in as well, especially when we were on top. Remember at times he was on the same side as Goodrham who is also new to this level and his target man was Billy Bodin* playing against a Championship side (albeit with changes).

* Billy Bodin did fine overall last night but he isn't going to win many headers against the size of centre-halves Swansea had.
