McGinty had an awful start to the game. Isn't a keeper handling outside the box like that, normally get a red card? I was pleased for him making that penalty save.
Brown looked pretty solid at CB, but also at left back
Goodrham had a quiet game, but chased everything, grew into the game and should really have equalised with a few minutes to go
I don't think that the Golding experiment worked. He was good going forwards but was caught out a lot at the back.

Brannaghan and Findlay made a big difference as you would expect

KR: "We'll plead the 5th [amendment] " on a new striker that might be great( I think he said) for this club. Doesn't want to tempt fate......
He said someone he admires, would he really admire a 20 year old (Kyle Joseph)?

Embarrassing reading some of the comments as the match progressed.

Anyhow my take aways from the game from someone who went.

MM could be the real deal at DCM
Brown as shown last year is a far superior left back than SS
Slightly surprised at Slavo, could make a useful forward.
Jury still out on Jones
Goalie will have learnt a lot from that game, people have faith
CB showed again how much we need him

A win moves us on again.

Credit to Robinson, I think he got it right tonight. He fielded a team that he thought would hold their own or win it then when it wasn’t working and we were two down brought some fight and bite into the team and we started to force them into errors. Swansea are a championship club, I don’t buy this bullshit that they brought on more kids in the second half and that’s why we won, our performance grew in confidence as the game went on and I’m now far happier about Bristol next Saturday then I was at 5 o clock last Saturday. Brown my man of the match, he must’ve a f*****g nightmare to play against.

You can see why Karl divides opinion, he always has to be clever, but it sounds like it just about worked this time. I’d have been annoyed if we list through playing reserves and missed out on a good tie

Personally didn’t think Golding had the best of games and certainly isn’t first choice/back-up for RB.

Thought Brown looked better than Seddon (better defender).

Didn’t work with Bodin up front, shame Goodrham wasn’t in that position, thought he was wasted out wide, but had a good game.

Elliott Moore looks slower/more complacent at times, so when he eventually passes the ball the receiving player is then under more pressure.

McGinty looked good at times especially his distribution, apart from the obvious error. Just feel he needs to look to his left when he has the ball.

Thought it was a better game than Saturday which wasn’t hard, and showed good character to come back and eventually win it. I felt if it went to extra time we would have won anyway as their players were dropping like flies with cramp etc.

I love coming home from games tonight and reading through these threads!

"McGinty shouldn't be anywhere near the first team"
"Game over"
"That's what you get for disrespecting the cup"

If there's been anything to take away from the last few years of watching Oxford, it's to never write us off.

Yes, there were errors all over the pitch and the first half was hard to watch. But we play to the whistle and as the game went on you always had the feeling that one lucky break could be enough to get us back into the game where anything could happen.

We'll play a lot better than that this season and get nothing. We're still a long way from looking settled, and few, if anyone, have put in 3 good performances yet. But we're in the draw and we have something big to build on for Saturday.

But remember, whatever happens, we're Oxford United and we never say die!!

That was really quite resilient in the last 20. We look a tougher side than last season. Swansea were being battered by the end.

Thought the youngsters all had their good moments . Goodhram looked particularly useful once the first team came on. Keeper has also got something, think he’ll improve a lot.

Had the pleasure of meeting famous ex ref and U’s fan Denis Hedges on the walk back to the car, what a nice man.

Started poor, McGinty made what is probably called a school boy error for a GK and I also thought that could have been a red card.
But he got better made some decent saves and ball catching as the gane grew, his distribution was good.
Felt overall for 80-85 mins we were poor and probably deserved to lose that.
But we are Oxford we never do anything easy, not sure but was it a rebound for Gorrins goal? Brannagan OMG I’m glad the board gave him the contract he desired to stick two fingers up to Blackpool.
Hate penalties they’re a lottery, but we took out penalties well and with them missing one it was obvious the man Cam who had to take the penalty that would out us through.

Well done Oxford COYY

Brown had a very good game at LB. Got to be the preferred option surely.

Most of the first half comments were justified, it really wasn't good was it.
