I think we have to give IT a bit of thinking space, first the game on Saturday has to take precedence over this move, we still a team to support irrespective of who is in it.
Cameron will be missed there is no doubt ,like all the other players who have been sold in the past, and we have to move on, in the forthcoming weeks if a replacement hasn't been signed, and the team strengthen in the areas which we are weak, then it's time to throw out toys out of the pram .

Our squad 28/07/22.

Brannagan to Blackpool, Forde to Wrexham.

*Wildschut out to Xmas, Baldock out till end of Sept.

Not included Mousinho as general thinking is he won’t be part of the 22 outfield players.

Its hardly that surprising a cub that has chased him in the last 4 windows have come in for him again? The fact we haven't got anyone in mind to replace him is embarrassing. We needed more midfielders in before we knew this even more so now.
Of course we have, but firstly, you can't replace a player like Cam easily. Someone as proven as him at this level is going to cost the kind of money that we don't have. He should have been playing in the Championship years ago. Thus, we've looked to the likes of Morton (who will go to the Championship) and Bate – players on the fringes of Premiership teams who have been waiting before committing to letting them go on loan (see Rak Sakyi). Pompey got Scarlett because he hasn't really got a hope in hell of minutes this year, whereas it's feasible that the players we're looking at could serve some use to their teams and hence it's been more difficult.

Now we've got a Cam-sized hole in the middle of the park, I bet we'll be a more attractive option to prospective quality players and teams looking to loan them out. Adversity breeds opportunity etc. etc.

Behave yourself.
I wouldn't say it was obvious. The only team that have been linked with him over the last 18 months has been Blackpool and they've consistently failed to get near the release clause when his contract was of more value. With 12 months left they could have waited to get him for free next summer, instead of paying £1.4 million for a player in the final year of their contract at League 1 level - which is very good money. I don't know why they just didn't do this a year ago to be honest...

Some people on here need to stop letting their obvious dislike for the Manager, cloud their judgement on things like this. I will be judging based on who we bring in.

Mate in the politest possible way.... WTF are you on about?! There's no foundation to that at all and you've given them a matter of hours before jumping on their backs. We all knew Cam was going, we just didn't know when and because it's a release clause he leaves us with no warning. That is nobody's fault. We all know he will be replaced but ordinarily you'd be sorting a replacement for Cam while we agree everything with Blackpool - we haven't had that luxury. We've got £1.5m to reinvest and try to be a better team in the long-run.

Stop whining, get behind the team on Saturday and see what happens in the days ahead.

Good luck Cam, legend of the club. Go smash it.

God, some of the bedwetters on here give the impression of never having had a job. You can do your reorganization and make your plans for the year but it can be scuppered by a good person suddenly resigning or being poached by another department. It can't always be foreseen and from Cam's tweet yesterday it does seem to have come out of the blue. I don't understand the urge some have to immediately try to find someone to blame for anything that goes wrong.

The odds of them triggering his release clause gets increasingly less likely the further into his contract he is. The club probably thought that when they failed to do this the last few times, they wouldn't do it this window because they can pick him up for free next year. There's been no links or rumours of this happening this summer so it's fair to say it's developed quickly. Maybe they've missed out on other targets, I don't know.
Blackpool pulled out of Bishop did they not?

That was Robbo's fault as well

The snipers and negativity returns in all it's glory

Time to exit the Yellows Forum Bus it's become a toxic place and the crazy things is we all are supporting the same team

State of some of these replies! That’s the embarrassing thing. Of course we have lists of players for every position. KR isn’t saying nobody in; but getting someone in will disrupt the planning for Saturday. I’m pretty sure calls are being made, further meetings on Sunday with players in early next week.

man that is pretty stark. An injury to any one of Long, McGuane, Murphy or Taylor on Saturday and...well, doesn't bare thinking about.

Robbo having a cob on about the timing and saying the team was being built around CamBran and the formation changed etc. He seems surprised and bewildered! Pathetic! It was obvious to most that he would leave this summer, He's given us longer service than we expected or deserved. Robbo should have a succession plan in place - no one player is bigger than the club etc. As for the timing, there's still a month of the window left - stop moaning, Karl! Shrewd business from MApp as per.
Or they failed to get their other targets and are having to overpay for a player in the final year of their contract. Why else have they waited this long to trigger his release clause?

Very disappointing. Unless we make 3 or 4 signings before Saturday we go into the start of the season with a horrendously unbalanced squad. I just hope we don't yet again find ourselves with a mountain to climb after the first 10 games.
Unbalanced squad? We always do though

One thing I have learnt reading this thread in the last few minutes is how many armchair managers there are on here who know everything about how football works, maybe they should give it a go as they are such experts!!😀😀
Really disappointing to lose Cam and really s**t timing. I wouldn’t expect us to go and get a replacement this side of Saturday as things on the training ground have to be reworked. Come next week we have to go and sign players. It is also worth mentioning that players come and go. As we are a League 1 club the really good ones will come in and then move on and up and until we get away from Kassam that won’t change and only then will it change although as it is at most other clubs we lose players as we are not Man City or Liverpool.
