Home Match Day Thread New Sports bar in the Ozone

Its a short walk to the turnstiles, so why not.Worth giving a try. Coors....... not for me , I am more of a Tennents Super man. I have been going to the Blackbird since the year 2000 and have not even been acknowledged by the Landlord . It must be me. Never mind, lets give it a go. Will debrief on the prices in due course.
Away fans were in there Monday, there was 2 doormen who seemed friendly :)
potentially J's bar could be designated away fans (only) for high profile /cat. a home games?
IF PC956 has joined this new YF , maybe he could give a bit of insight on wether J's bar
is a contender for cat ' a matches, designated for away fans ?

most football fans are creatures of habit (and superstition too), if the individual pre match ritual is not a constant, as in disrupted, it'll be a 'no' from many ...me included

Got to agree about glen the landlord of the blackbird, although he did smile at me one Boxing Day about 10 years ago. Paula was always spot on though.

Did you complain that the Chateauneuf du Pape was at the wrong temperature or something? Or maybe you left some of the seared pigeon breast in blackcurrant and juniper jus on the plate?

Or maybe you didn't use the secret password that Glen has given the rest of us.

Chef can be volatile and vindictive :cautious:

They do not sell Real Ale atm, but are open to requests:

Cider-wise: Magners
Carling cider
Strong bow dark fruits
Rekorderlig

Away fans are allowed in, unless the OB tell them otherwise.

...and theres a OUFC club shop almost next door to J's bar

and J's bar are aiming to be an OUFC fans pre/post drinkerie ? hmmmmmm

Might have some in the offing? Think Monday was the first time it opened properly.
Will look on Saturday :)

Place has only been open 4 days, maybe give them a bit more of a chance?

People moan about the lack of places nearby to get a drink then moan when one opens up right next door. Even if it’s not your sort of place, and some of you sound like right miserable gits who never go out anyway, it should free up some room at whichever pub you do drink in pre match.

It’s not as if a pub/bar can survive on the 20 odd home games we have alone either, the place will have to work hard to attract locals, people who use the ozone, pool/snooker/darts fans so to expect them to completely prioritise us other everything else is a bit OTT.

I have pretty low standards when it comes to pouring alcohol down my throat, but I hope there are more options for cider drinkers than Strongbow, or Carling Cider.

I'll definitely check it out - always good to have more options close to the stadium.

Likely they will have the ubiquitous (and quite frankly terrible) Doom Bar on keg, as that's brewed by Molson Coors.

Still a better pint than over-chilled Greene King's IPA, mind. That's dull as p*ss even when well-kept.

I am not moaning, would expect a bit of OUFC stuff up though!
