Because he’s 31 maybe?Including his own ambition as a footballer.
If he's that good, why is he slumming it in League 1

Last fat paycheck then....got itBecause he’s 31 maybe?
My gut feeling is that the top 2 places are sealed already with Wednesday and Derby. Mad signings for this league already.
Hourihane in League 1 I mean come on......
It’s moaning in my eyes - not aimed specifically at you or this particular subject; it’s gone on for weeks. I’ve seen enough now to know what’s constructive questioning and what’s moaning. I try my best to focus on the proper discussion but this really irked me yesterday after endless tears about a lack of activity. Forget the fact he’s played at the highest level, you’d think there might just be a bit of positivity about the fact we’re making moves like this? OK he’s unknown… And? Would you rather he go to MK Dons and prove himself there? Or will we moan that we didn’t go for him. Is there not enough on his CV already to safely assume he’s half decent?People aren’t necessarily moaning, just some are saying he’s not a ‘wow’ signing, but hopefully a good addition to the squad as a relatively unknown at this level.
Spot the difference.
How? Derby need to sign players, and this is a free transfer. They have a new owner and are now out of administration, and are still working within the confines of a transfer embargo. A player who played 29 times in the Championship side last season signing for a side recently-relegated from that division isn't all that surprising.
Ipswich have had their team together longer and I reckon could be top two. Even if we do make some good signings it's hard to see us doing more than scrapping for fifth or sixth. My gut feeling is that the top 2 places are sealed already with Wednesday and Derby. Mad signings for this league already.

How are they finding it so easy to get deals done when they were being run by administrators just a fortnight ago and their manager has recently changed?!
Thousands of season tickets throughout league 1 being ripped up or cancelled as we speakMy gut feeling is that the top 2 places are sealed already with Wednesday and Derby. Mad signings for this league already.

Agreed, but I don't think it just comes down to money. Having a hierarchical recruitment structure in place with a sporting director could help make getting these signings over the line that little bit easier. What it does show is how hard it is to compete with some of the clubs in league one. Some quarters have stated that we must act like a top two side this season, but the spending power (and potential recklessness) of Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich and now Derby is crazy. Any one of those three not going up will likely be in the brown stuff next summer.
I have no doubt that our budget will be a good playoff level and far greater than we could have dreamed of a few years ago, but we're still miles away from the top clubs and that is more evident when we look to fish in the same waters as them.
If this is true we are dismantling the side not adding to it and the back lash that will followView attachment 9253

For one season , well part of a season that they were dropping down in .Wycombe, as detestable as they are, have proved that a competitive budget and a fairly ordinary bunch of players can outdo the big boys.
