I actually agree with everything KR said on RadOx. A weaker team would have completely folded against, let's be honest, a GOOD Wycombe side. I thought for the brief times they had the ball they looked class and hardly made any mistakes in possession. When they lost the ball it was because we did well to force an error. They will be right up there for that exact reason.

We can s**t on their unorthodox tactics all we like but at the end of the day it works and it gets them a lot of points.

Lots to build on after today. If we can get that extra 10% of quality consistently combined with the work rate seen today then we will be very dangerous.

In all my years watching football, I've never seen such an awful shower of shite as those Wycombe cowboys, absolutely pathetic.

What a half-wit that Gareth Ainsworth must be to want to play such an awful brand of anti-football as that week in week out.

Thank god we don't have to watch that conning, cheating horse s**t every week, I feel like I've been violated.

I would say they were tinpot, but that would be an insult to tinpots.

Gavin Whyte is obviously our preferred right sided forward
Mark Sykes has chopped and changed between Left and right midfield for the majority of his Oxford career.
Robinson says he prefers Sykes up front on the right, why not switch or at least alternate throughout the game.
Cooper is the strongest replacement for left side but not on loan.

I wouldn’t pay to watch their s**t

They are probably a top 6 side despite people slagging them off, and of course there is nothing in the laws of the game that says that you can’t play like they do. A fair result in the end I thought despite us having them under the cosh for most of the second half.

Yeah maybe, dunno if he’s any good as haven’t seen him in a league game. Holland is the obvious choice but I’ve not been that impressed with him.

Must be a loan thing, as have seen plenty of Cooper to see he’s the stronger player
Edit
In my opinion

Flat game with a flat atmosphere.

Sorry to be negative about a player I actually like, but I'm getting a bit fed up watching Taylor lately. Just goes through the motions, never seems to run the channels, wants the perfect chance.

What exactly does Agyei have to prove to get a start?

Thought both teams fouled to high heaven today. Ref didn't seem to care. Laughable that only one Wycombe player got booked iirc. Agree that our set pieces are woeful but when we do get a chance our headers are pants. Mcnally had a free header back post as an example.
I am totally emotionless when we get a corner or free kick to attack.

In fact with corners I'm worried the other team will break.

Glad someone said it. Thought the game was there for the taking but we were too negative especially with our subs. Is a point at home against Wycombe really a decent result?

No idea why Henry is on corners again now from the right rather than Forde. Or free-kicks for that matter. Should be Forde all day long.

Good point but christ Wycombe really take advantage of a weak referee. Loads of moaning, niggly fouls and kicking the ball away. But for them it's effective and probably the only reason they're able to be at this level.
Absolutely, Forde is our best corner taker, without a doubt.

Ainsworth has turned Wycombe into a comedy villain pastiche of a football team.

The thing is - you can see from their squad that they've seen some money from their year in the Championship. Vokes has 60+ caps and a dozen international goals. Stockdale was on the fringes of the England squad at his peak. Maybe he just plays well against us, but Anthony Stewart is the best central defender I've seen at this level the past five years (that didn't play for us). Jacobson looks like he has some ability.

They don't need to play cheating anti-football. With their talent level, they could play decent football and still be in the top half. But Ainsworth doesn't seem to know any other way.

As for us - there was a good 20 minute period in the second half, where Whyte, Henry & Sykes switched around a lot, and we played with some fluidity and looked dangerous. The Sykes "James Henry at Wembley" impression was the apex of that. But for the most part, we got dragged down to their level.

Still, good battling to ensure we at least came away with something. Now we need to get back in the win column against Cheltenham.
I said it at the game and again now - I wouldn’t take a single player from their team. They play to a system dictated by management and are well drilled, sure they have some better players but nothing really changes. Stewart is a good stopper but I’m not sure about the best central defender at this level. He can barely pass the ball sometimes. They will be difficult to beat but is that really the best they can do with money in the bank?

Some players, one I've named in particular, seem to want things to happen but don't seem willing to take a risk.

A draw against wycombe isn't the end of the world, but the lack of taking the game to them was disappointing.

What is agyei expected to do in 3 minutes?

Apparently their most skilful player was suspended for three games after punching someone. Says it all

At least we can put to bed any talk of that game being a rivalry.

Atmosphere absolutely flat as a pancake from both teams.

That is so Wycombe.

Brannagan and one of their bruisers had a right old scrap in the middle of the park at one point today. Ref didn't seem to want to know.

Not sure that was as bad a game as some are making out. I thought the first half, we got stuck into matching Wycombe physically but lost sight of our own game. A couple of excellent saves from Stevens kept us in the game but it was still very even.

I thought the second half we came out with more belief and played some nice football at times. Forde and Sykes looked very good on the right, and Henry linked well with both. Gorrin and Brannagan were both fantastic in the middle, and bullied Wycombe back. Neither gave an inch and it put Wycombe on the back foot. Taylor, I thought looked much better. He was coming deep to try to influence games, ran the line well and hassled their back four, and was unlucky not to get on the end of a number of decent balls into the box.

Gavin Whyte looked poor. I know that sometimes we see things differently depending on where we sit, but with the exception of one run in the first half I cam barely remember him doing anything of note. I know he is on his less preferred side, but I would have expected him to have found a way to have a greater influence. Others might have seen it differently, but he was the weak link for me from an attacking perspective.

Our defence was much more solid, and dealt with most things that Wycombe had to offer. A couple of nervy moments but certainly much better than last week.

Also, I'm sure there will be comments about the lateness of the subs. However, we were in control late into the game and looking more likely to score. I think making the subs much earlier could have killed our rhythm and other than switching Whyte I'm not sure they would have made much difference.

Certainly more to be happy about than to be worried about.

On a funny point, did anyone see the Wycombe guy running to the bus stop on Blackbird Leys?
He had the tightest, smallest pair of denim shorts possible and looked ridiculous!! Spotted one Oxford fan taking a photo of him, was that you @RyanioBirdio? 🤣

Problem today Whyte didn’t go on many sprints he seemed to be camped on the halfway line and not seeming to make it known he wanted the ball so he could use his pace.
