Another poor start to the season, injuries mount early on and fans calling for KRโ€™s head by October ๐Ÿ˜‚

Current squad, as we only have half a decent defence, then anywhere between 8th-14th.

Bring in decent LB, CB (plus a backup LB) and a pacy LW, then anywhere between 4th-10th.

Some level of consistency. That would make me happy. We haven't had it for the past few seasons.

As it stands, I expect just about top half. 10th or so. Play-offs again would be a success, bottom half would be a failure however we spin it.

Atm 6th - 10th is my prediction.

Them first 10 games look very favourable, and if we can get off to a good start, then we could mount a challenge. Get off to another seasonal poor start then questions will be asked. No excuses this time.

Having hit playoffs in the past 2 seasons, if we are intending to kick on, we have to review anything lower than a playoff place to be a backward step.

We have set the bar a bit higher after these past two seasons, but I guess that comes with ambition.

Obviously impossible to say without a full squad, but I have to say I am slightly disappointed that, despite explicitly acknowledging it post-Blackpool, we still don't seem to have addressed our lack of physicality. I think without that steel, we're going to struggle against the top teams again. So hovering around 8th/7th/6th for me.

I think the players we do have will be good enough technically to see off most of the sides in the division again, especially with a fully-fit and one-year-more-experienced MacGuane in alongside Brannagan - a prospect we were all drooling over last season but which, due to various injuries, never actually materialised, IIRC. I also think Clare will be a better option than most people are giving him credit for. But I fear we may be out-paced and out-muscled again at times this year.

To be fair, from the management's perspective, uncertainty around an ongoing and protracted takeover is probably a pretty legitimate excuse.

At the moment mid table at best but with just under 3 weeks to go things may change positive or negative acquisitions including loans

Between 12th and 15th. We simply havent strengthened (in fact are weaker) a squad that got bullied out of the playoffs and lost to every top 7 team. Plus those cannon fodder teams from last season have hugely strengthened.

If you offered me 10th now i would be cartwheeling down the street.

At the moment top half as we have not replaced some very good players
If we get in a decent left back and cover at Centre back plus a couple of exiting loan players I would say playoffs
We canโ€™t compete financially with the big boys in this league.
To get into the top 2 we will have to have no injuries and perform much better against the top 6 than we did last season

If we reach the play offs that will be a good season but really I want top two but can maybe see just missing out and finishing 7th who knows what will happen

A better start to the last two seasons, followed by the usual bursts of wins and I'll be a happy chap. Just looking forward to Sheffield Wednesday away. Colleague of mine is a Wednesday fan and the trash talk has been very real since they got relegated!

Top at Christmas, promoted at Easter, going up as f*****g champions!!!!

Absolutely bang on mate.

I am desperate for KR to address the physicality weaknesses in our side.

I really enjoy watching the likes of Henry and Sykes on their day but when they're not at it and those weak challenges go in against sides like Blackpool, Sunderland and Accrington we can look very lightweight and naive.

Cam and Gorrin are fantastic players but do they tick the box that stops us having a soft underbelly, sadly not in the last few seasons.

Some steel, guile and experience needs to be added to our team if we are to go 1 step further.

I haven't changed my mind on Clare either but he's entitled to a clean sheet upon his return and in a more favourable position.

I would expect that if we came 10th you would be moaning more than everybody else on here!
