Chairman Takeover now Old Car Chat

Pressure!

So a number of announcements will be made including season tickets (with a deal for those who supported the club, but I don't know what!), new kits (heard a blue away or 3rd kit), backroom staff, and hopefully a couple of signings (but these may not be until the week after). Preseason friendlies were a little up in the air with the uncertainty over travel but Rangers were strong favourites for our big home game.

So nothing on the Stadium then?

It is all pending the outcome of lockdowns. But the hope was to get one game prior to the season starting as a trial run as much as anything.
If say it was Rangers then that’s one hell of a trial run

I don't think anything concrete will be announced this week.

Will the 'takeover' be formally announced too?

For someone who takes such notice of what I post, you get so much wrong!

I've posted a number of times that the takeover was completed and just waiting for the announcement.

EC then posts that the takeover is imminent.

I post that he's jumping the gun a little and get criticised for questioning EC.

EC then posts to say that it's close.

I reply saying "a series of coordinated press releases over the course of next week"

And EC replies, "starting Monday!"

So if anyone was jumping on the bandwagon you could argue that EC was following me, and joked to that effect.

I even posted that @ECYellow, @Wallop and @Front Post were generally very close to things behind the scenes and that their contributions were valued. I know that I split opinion, but I also think that I bring something to the forum even if some can't see that much of it is tongue in cheek!
😂
I don’t know why you take the bait so much Scotchers!

Either people believe you’re ITK or not, who cares!

But after all this a**e wiggling, all you ITK folk are gonna look a bit silly, if nothing happens this week!

Ground - "nothing concrete".

I would hope they would atleast come out with their intentions. The last we heard from anyone board level (not scotchers or colinb) was all options were being looked at including a new lease on the kassam.

If the England v Scotland game is anything to go by thousands of Rangers fans would travel anyway.
What is fondly known as the fence end won’t exist because it won’t be there

Is it a bad thing if they trash the place? Hardly going go to make it a less desirable place.

Good to see the entertainment of who is more ITK than anyone else is still going on.
Another tick off my Yellows Forum Close Season Bingo Card!

I did hear an interesting one in the last couple of weeks.
Having visited Brentford's new stadium for a work thing, I was speaking to a chap from the company who were one of the contractors in building it and when mentioning I was an Oxford fan, they made a throwaway comment about there was a possibility of getting involved with OUFC in the coming months but didn't want to say any more.

That makes you very slightly in the know on the sliding scale of knowingness, having driven through the road by the railway station I am amazed that a football club was built there, the great thing is that it remains in the area

Yep, because Eng v Scotland in the Euro's at Wembley would carry a similar level of clout for Rangers fans as them playing L1 Oxford in a pre season friendly.
