Potential New Ground

If the plan had been to buy the Kassam, we would have done by now!

Why the sudden movement with this consortium taking the reins now then? We all know Tiger hasn't got the funds to build a new ground but the others aren't here to pump money in to the club just to keep losing money each year. Something must of changed in the stance with either land becoming available or kassam willing to sell?

A little less then building from scratch on new land considering roads, services won't need changing and less in planning costs. Only the initial cost of purchasing the land at the grenoble Road will be higher but then again we wouldn't be paying rent on the kassam and could have full control of revenue from day one rather then waiting until the new stadium is built elsewhere.
Sorry for shouting but the Indonesian consortium IS NOT GOING TO DO THIS. If such a plan ever came to fruition it would be because the takeover was frustrated and didn’t happen and if that occurred I’d be more worried about the survival of OUFC than what new stadium options might be on the table.

Sadly, when some refuse to listen it doesn't matter how loud you shout.

Hard evidence is what we want, not just some keyboard apparent in the knowers shouting its happening.
Nothing will be announced until the owners have everything aligned.
Surely everybody gets that?
It isn't just some people on here that makes what is being claimed likely.
Just look at the make up of the Board/ ownership. Look at what they have done in the past.

.... including the stars in the night sky

And so the thread carries on in it's ever revolving circle.

When @ECYellow rarely posts on threads but does so regarding Transfer Activity we take notice right?

When @Colin B rarely posts but does so on this thread defusing talk of buying the Kassam and as good as informing that something is happening behind the scenes We take notice right?

They have less experience in developing then Kassam though, DC united had plans of building a stadium way before Erick and co turned up and at Inter Erick didn't even own the stadium.

Just because these lot are coming in doesn't mean all the District, County councils and near by residents (nimbys) are going to bow down to them and let them build. I could understand a stadium being built on say like Stratfield Brake with sports facilities next to it but then where do this consortium return their money? The likelihood that another grenoble Road scale development on greenbelt are slim to say the least especially when there isn't an ideal site in Oxford city councils district.

I reckon a billionaire can get a deal done with Oxfordshire’s various councils, Kassam has managed to buy his way into and round them with far less (but still considerable) funds.

Precisely OX14. To win any Appeal - & there sure will be a (minimum) 2 year Appeal process required - the Appellant has to establish "need" as one of their reasons. I reckon that will only be remotely possible if Firoz kicks us out!

Agreed the most prolific ITK posters are just attention seeking narcissists.

Yes but we are not just talking about building a stadium, for it to be worthwhile to the board then surely a similar scale Grenoble road development is needed. I just can't see it happening.

Maybe they will build housing as well? Who knows? I think the world of international billionaires is so far removed from those of us on here that it’s hard to speculate, they are on a different planet to us.

Something is going on obviously, just wait and see for us mere mortals.

Spot on.

I still think the land between the BMW /Unipart site and our training facility would be good to develop.
That land is not used and I’m sure BMW would be open to offers and I’m sure as it’s so close to the factory the Council would not object
Either that or the Council could use the Horspath Road running track site as a Sports Complex
