Home Match Day Thread 05/12/2020 L1 OUFC v Hull City

Good point - Wigan win 1-0 at Sunderland with their 1 shot in the match compared to 16 from the home side - might pop over to their forum soon šŸ˜€

Feels like a point gained, doesn't it?

Credit where it's due, Hull are fair value for their position at the top of the tree, and we do seem a mite off that level.

I think Brannagan makes a pretty big difference to our team when he's back, making us the top half squad that we should be.

Blackpool are in reasonable form like Hull were and are another litmus test next week. More progress, or the usual 2-0 implosion?

They played well and did more than well to draw with the league leader. Just a pity we are back in the relegation zone.

We seem to be a first half team at the moment. Great out the gate, with tons of energy and purpose. But tiring quickly, and not able to bring anyone on who can change the game. I imagine the possession stats for the second half were not pretty.

But still, decent point against a side that's probably only down here for one season.

Bad news is that other results mean we're back in the bottom four. But now the key part of our season begins. We only have one game against a side in the Top 10 between now and January 30th. Time to pick up some wins, if we want to avoid a relegation scrap at the end of the season......

Great first half with a ā€˜ front foot ā€˜ performance and deservedly ahead. Oxford made Hull look very ordinary for long spells.

Second half was a complete reversal again - losing second balls , unable to pass the ball and build any meaningful attacks.
Every second half performance at home is a slog especially after 60 mins. We become unrecognisable. The midfield seems
to disappear as a unit and we become so disjointed. Henry, McGuane and Kelly canā€™t last a game in my view,

Overall a good , hard earned point but I am worried that at home we just canā€™t get on the ball and create anything the longer the game goes on and scoring goals looks difficult. This keeps happening and we look so panic stricken.

Maybe I am being harsh but Iā€™m seeing the same issues most weeks and itā€™s easy to see why we are bottom six,

Back in the relegation zone, but the squad should take some confidence from that performance against the league leaders.
We showed that relegation is by no means a certainty, and we have a game in hand over several teams immediately above us.
