How do you build any play when the ball does not stick up front? The full backs provide zero quality from an attacking perspective
and as always the set piece delivery is so often poor.

That was a good chance to win a game againt very ordinary opponents but we can’t build anything and so often in second halves at home
we offer little after an hour or so. It seems we vacant the central midfield area and just try and get it down the right side all the time.
Can’t see where the creativity is.

A clean sheet is welcome of course but we just don’t show enough ambition to win a game.
And that is exactly why Obita should be playing at left back supporting another left winger in the side.

Robinson is funny - he does a triple substitution against Portsmouth and it works well, so he tries the same against Swindon, and it backfires, so he waits ages to make them against Ipswich...

Why not judge each game on its merits and see what is needed tactically, not just react to what worked or didn’t work last game?

Clean sheet the only bonus. We are a very poor to mediocre team, tonight confirmed that once again.

Pretty sure we are heading down but certainly any think 15th or 16th is the height of our capabilities.

I've taken dumps that were more exciting than that performance.
With both sides losing a lot lately - this was a predictable goalless draw (if Oxford could defend and played Stevens) and as many on here predicted pre-match.

To be fair to Easty though, Stevens didn't really have a save to make tonight. I did like the fact that you could hear Stevens organising his defenders though.
Stevens caught crosses. Eastwood wycombe. Stevens cleared throughballs. Eastwood wycombe. Stevens caught/saved shots straight at him. Eastwood charlton. Stevens didnt pull out of challenges. Eastwood swindon.

Stevens did the basics right. Thats the least i expect from a league one keeper.

So how does that make you satisfied? Ipswich reserve team and a 0-0.

I‘m just bored with it all to be honest... neither happy or sad, calm or angry, just bored with it all..
Just because we didn't lose to a stupid late goal. I've had a s**t week personally so I see a 0-0 as a satisfactory result compared to a 0-1

Positives:

Stevens looked calm, confident, composed, quick off his line, and now will surely keep his place

McGuane is growing into a hell of a player and seems to be getting fitter too

Kelly had another solid game

Shodipo worked hard

Agyei looked like his head is still in it from his short cameo

Negatives:

We didn’t score against a terrible Ipswich side and didn’t attack enough.

We were far, far too negative and passed it backwards, sideways, backwards, to the keeper, to the keeper, to the keeper

Ruffels just isn’t on it, but Robinson refuses to change it. Is he blind to his poor form, or just stubborn?

Likewise, Henry isn’t doing enough to justify his place in the side.

Taylor is looking knackered by the 70th minute, but Robinson hates taking him off

Well I can’t say I am satisfied with a 0-0 against a reserve team, but I get your point.

Clean sheet is a positive I guess....

Considering our recent shite performances and the position we're in - yes. As for Ipswich the stats don't lie. They may have multiple injuries but then so have we and for a team to play like they did and the way we did I'd rather have a point than none - and our first clean sheet.

Ipswich do have multiple injuries, I think 12 was mentioned. I guess we also do, as two is a multiple...

Happy enough with that, got to build on something. I'd like to see Clare start with Henry taking Kelly's place as the most advanced midfielder in the future because we need somebody closer to Taylor, wish it was Browne.

That really shows how terrible things are. A very poor Ipswich who
could have snatched it at the end. A game there for the taking. Something isn't right. We were frightened and timid, again and again playing back from their half to stevens aka a Clotet team.
Please for the love of god will the Eastwood sentimentalists now accept Stevens has to be our starter?

Look, Eastwood is like a TV series. I loved the early series, but the recent series are predictable and full of plot holes, run out of ideas. End the show now before you forget you enjoyed the early series.

Lets wait to see when Shakin' has to make a save, then we can compare him to Eastwood. Saturday will give us a better idea of a comparison.

Well it’s an end to run of no clean sheets, we got a point and showed a bit of guts I suppose.

We are not a good team, that’s obvious from watching us, shaky at the back, don’t create enough and struggle to put away chances when we get them, pretty much tick all the bad team boxes so I will take staying up this season in a heartbeat, just hope we can manage that.

  • Stevens - 23-years-old now, is he league one standard? Well, it's far too early to say, but a good start for him and he absolutely has to start ahead of the woefully out of form and possibly finished Eastwood.
  • Long - A limited footballer, but I don't mean any offence by this. He does what he has to do well and has a good attitude, but a Cadden-style player he aint.
  • Moore - He's the kind of player who has a little bit of class about him and is efficient. Whether his career can reach higher that League One I'm not so sure, but he would be useful for most sides in our division.
  • Atkinson - Talented. Quite Rob Dickie esque but possibly even more aggressive on the ball, tries to make things happen. As a defender, lots of work to do, but he's promising. Can you have a centre back as inexperienced and learning as Atkinson and go up? probably not, can you stay up? probably.
  • Ruffels - A form player, when the team is on-song he tends to look good, and when the team is bad he tends to look very bad. Again, he has his limitations, but he's earnt the right to start for us at this level over the years.
  • Kelly - You can't argue the lad isn't a talent, but his failed move to Feyenoord clearly had an enormous knock on his confidence. He's the sort of player where if he looked Oxford and joined another team at our level you can guarantee he would look like a world-beater.
  • Gorrin - I like him, he's probably the player we miss the most when not fit. When he's missing our defence looks terrifyingly out of depth at this level.
  • McGuane - A bit Kelly esque, he's a talent, but can he become the vital cog in this team. We are so tactically disjointed at times it's impossible for any player to look good.
  • Henry - A good player at this level who started this season woefully out of form. We know he's a good player, can he find form regularly in this KR team? I hope so.
  • Taylor - A top striker at this level who is often frustrated by a total lack of service. Would probably score 25 a season for a team like Peterborough.
  • Shodipo - Flatters to deceive, has some talent but spends most of the game looking to dive and time wasting. Praying he proves me wrong. Was utterly useless vs the scum
This is where we are in my opinion. Do we have enough to stay up? I hope so.
