National News Boris Johnson - Ousted Former PM

If Johnson or his team had any nous, he should say they can as long as the Scottish Govt cover the tax revenues to HMG from their other budgets. The UK gets its tax take and Sturgeon has a decision to make.

Expect the announcement after they`ve read it on here...... :ROFLMAO:

Anyone notice this sneaking along???

So the fixed term parliaments act probably won't even last a decade then......

......to be honest, it really only came into being in the first place because Cameron & Clegg needed it to protect themselves from one another.

I don't think it's a big loss.
Yes, the original system gives the incumbent party the advantage of being able to call an early election if things are going well.
But it also protects the country from the absurd situation that we had last year of a government/parliament that can't govern, but also can't fall on its sword. If Corbyn & the Lib Dems had played political games, then the UK could have gone years without being able to pass any legislation.

1. And we would all have turned it down yes?

2. As he was being paid less than others it probably avoided a tribunal....
1. Irrelevant

2. Pure speculation.

3. Why is nobody saying he deserved it?

Absolutely. If we know one thing about this government, it is they act quickly with money issues to head off potential future trouble...

Oh, sorry, perhaps they don't... 😉

Lest we forget this too:

I mean it's not like Dommy needs the money after he and his besties reaping the benefits of all this...is it?

If he doesn't actually need the money (and I dare say there is nobody who can argue he does), then why not turn it down if the only reason you are doing the job is to serve the public and your country (they do work for us, after all...even Dommy....doesn't he) and he already has enough to live on. On the other hand, if your intentions are less than genuine and you are a self serving sociopath.....you can kind of understand the reasoning

And I am sure all those public sector workers who have just been whacked squarely in the nuts again with an indefinite pay freeze will all willingly stand and applaud the government and their many SPADS for all the sacrifices they are making on our behalf whilst "running" the country.

He deserved it.

1. Is a nailed on fact, nobody on here would have turned it down.

2. Indeed, but there is previous.

3. Now wrong, see above.

:)

Have you considered auditioning for Britain's Got Talent?

Your stand up stuff is nothing short of hilarious.

Tell me you would have declined a similar % pay rise if offered?

You should have a read of his blog, it illustrates that fine line between genius and madness.

If he isn`t on some sort of spectrum I would be surprised.

Surely the point is it shouldn't have been offered under the circumstances...

I wish our back four were as good at defending as you 😉

Realism, it`s an attribute you know.

Another good thing about DC......
