Matches Hull ticket details announced

Utter shambolic, why not use systems used by other clubs that are fair. Eg, a ballot, if you get chosen then you dont go into the next ballot.
Because people moan that they can't get their favourite seats.

Finally got two seats. Or rather Mrs Lounger got two - in the East stand, tried the SSU, SSL, North even the family and then out of the blue two East stand tickets went into the basket.
Then followed another anomaly, having selected "print at home" leading to a total cost of £0.00 the damn system insisted on credit/debit card details including the CCV number! I can't wait to see that appear on the bank account.

Enjoy the view to whoever got our usual seats - infuriating that they were available but not to us.

Bit of a joke to be honest. Also have we established whether the 'social bubble' outlined by the club means what you completed in the survey? Or in line with the government definition of a social bubble?

Didn’t want favourite seats, just wound have liked a seat.

They could have done it in so many ways e.g. who’s held a season ticket for longest, who’s paid higher prices, who guess to away games + home ST holder etc etc or even easier a ballot rather than drip feeding tickets into blocks for a hour of people’s lives. Shambolic.

The club have had weeks to sort this out. Releasing them at 10am on a Monday on a first come, first served basis was always going to be a joke. We know the ticketing system cant handle the demand at the best of times.

A lot easier would have been a google forms or surveymonkey - "Do you want to go to the match", "ST number", "ST holders in bubble". They already know ST holders who have the same address. That way they could have issued it on a ballot system per blocks of fans.

I know it's a trial and this is what it's for, but they've cocked it up again.

A ballot would have been better. With unsuccessful people being given priority in the next matches ballot. This would ensure a fairer allocation of tickets to those ST holders that want to attend.
This is really simple. We have c.3,750 ST holders. My guess is that at least 750 of them won't want to or can't (due to Tier 3 restrictions) attend. So let's assume we have 3,000 ST holders to service. Simple 3 match rolling model:

Club finds out who can't/won't come to the games and allocates the remaining 3,000 ST holders into 3 batches of 1,000 ensuring that the social bubbles are intact within a batch.

First game - 2,000 (call them 1-1,000 ST and 1,001-2,000 ST) ST holders within their social bubbles get a ticket, 1,000 miss out, (call them 2,001-3,000 ST)

Second game - 2,001-3,000 ST and 1-1,001 ST get tickets

Third game - 1,001-2,000 ST and 2,001-3,000 ST group get a ticket

And repeat until any Tier rules change. Does it have to be any harder than that?

I didn't say you did.

Absolute shower of sh*t, I tried but failed to get a single ticket

It is almost certainly true that a number of the OUFC bubbles setup earlier in the pandemic do not comply with the current COVID tier system. So the way this process has been designed is most likely going to break the rules.

Y
I don’t understand all this moaning! 😮 Yes, the system was crap but 75% of people were going to miss out whether it was done this way or through a ballot.

Club have said this was a one off, people in meltdown jeez...
Yeah but doing it via a ballot means you don't waste 45 minutes trying to buy a ticket :D

Why did it have to be a one off? My god they’ve had plenty of time, and if they had done the trial a few months ago they could have had 50% of the ST holders attend or more if those who didn’t/couldn’t attend.

They didn't comply with the rules in September though? Didn't the rules in September state you can meet up to six people outside and be socially distanced, which is the same as now? The one metre apart thing has been constant since March so I don't see what the point of doing the survey was in September?

How have they been doing this in Germany? Perhaps @Berliner can shed some light?

They could've come up with a way of doing it that didn't require ST holders to refresh the ticket page repeatedly for 45 mins only to keep receiving the same error message.

On a more general note, I really think the club have got to find a way of better rewarding the fans that bought season ticket holders this year, and the many (myself included, how great am I?) who also willingly gave up the refund from the end of last season.

At the moment I think there is very much a feeling of it being taken for granted. I think the club will be in a very sorry position come renewal time next summer (especially if current form continues) if they don't get creative and come up with better ways of engaging with fans in general, and especially ST holders.

In the event we make it to Tier 1 (and allow 4000 fans) then it would be reasonable to allow season ticket holders to pick where they sit and so a trial of this nature for a trial game was a reasonable thing to do.

As this is a trial.

You assume/hope/pray that the process for the remaining 16 home league games (if we remain at 2k/4k max) has already been drawn up and is ready to roll in time for the Northampton game on 15th December.
