Shrewsbury and rovers have both sacked their managers this season. We are on the same points as rovers and i guess our board have higher aspirations than those teams. KRs job must be hanging on a thread.
No chance Tiger sacks him. It’ll cost too much. Plus they’re more like mates than employee employer.

I don’t blame Robinson I think he’s a good manager but he needs to take control of the recruitment. We’re never ready to go at the start of the season. Taking ages to get deals done. We’re signing more duds and crocks than super stars. The side is unbalanced with inadequate cover in key areas. Whilst others are overloaded.

I‘ll probably have to take cover after this comment, but at the end of the day it is just a game of football and there are far more serious issues in the world to worry about.
You’re not alone;
I was absolutely spitting feathers at the end of the game, furious at such a heartless capitulation, to Swindon of all people.
I closed up the laptop, and was brought crashing back to earth when I saw that 479 more people had died from COVID-19.
For all the joy this game gives us, and all the disappointments, remember it’s just a game.

It has to be finally admitted that this is a relegation side. When you have forwards that must score at least two goals a game in order to get a draw then you re in real trouble. The disastrous transfer window where the world and his wife were screaming that we need to shore up the defense has passed. Robinson signed a winger. In order to shore up the . attack we signed sicknote. Most of the other signings have great potential. FOR NEXT YEAR OR THE YEAR AFTER. NOT RIGHT NOW.
The usual get out in this situation is to dump the manager and bring in fresh ideas. We can't because of the four year contract. Alas League Two beckons.
The only hope we have left is the January window. If someone takes the selection away from Robinson (assuming it was him that organised the last disaster) and brings in more experienced players to stabilise the situation before it's too late.

Oh dear, misrepresentation. I'm not talking about this season, I'm talking about the times I have been lucky enough to watch the youngsters play, the same games the manger would have seen or had reports on, over the last few seasons
Hell the way things are, and I'm a big Eastwood fans, until things can be sorted properly in January as Steve Kinburgh said on the radio, I think we have no choice but to play stevens. Have you not noticed that loans are normally brought in when Eastwood doesn't wear the no.1 Jersey? What does that tell you? kr has had little faith for stevens to wear that jersey up until now. Don't be surprised to see Eastwood in goal on Tuesday, if kr is still in charge.

He’s watched no youth teams games, this prick posts for attention cos he can’t bore the back of people’s heads in the pub that don’t know him ! Ask the academy staff Stevens was one of the stand out players for two years in the youth team, a team where Baptiste was not a regular. Was MOM in FA youth cup game during that against Man City and was never rotated with other keeper in squad.

Had two spells with Ox City were there was nothing but plaudits including fa cup run to 2nd round.

Apparently had a tough time at Tamworth in what I am told was an appalling team and an environment that would challenge any young keeper.

He had good background as well spent years u9 to u 14 at Chelsea Academy and was released apparently cos they thought he would not make 6 foot, went on to Barnet FC with others like Jack Taylor (now at Posh) playing for Youth Team as an U16 but still under 6 foot and not offered scholarship.

Must be 6 foot 2 or 3 now I would think and good with his feet, very vocal and seems confident and told by good source matured no end and now could be his time.

However very few us on this forum can envisage the politics of a professional EFL team and we will just have to wait and see

Have to agree with this about a relegation side. Myself, like many are upset in the manner in how we just threw the win away, but worse than that, the performance was a clear message to all in GREAT BIG NEON YELLOW ILLUMINOUS LIGHTS that this squad and manager face the very real prospect of taking us down.

Eastwood doesn’t just want bombing out of the team he wants bombing out of the county.
Rein your neck in. He isn't playing well, looks shot in terms of confidence and rightly people are questioning his place in the team. However, he has been a great player for us and always comes across as a good guy. So just leave it at questioning his place in the team.

I don't care if he's a winger or not, he didn't run! He didn't chase back! He didn't go looking for the ball! That's unacceptable in any game, but in a derby he had the opportunity to run a crappy defence ragged and did nothing. And Shodipo was even worse. I'm not sure how anyone can defend that.

You have managed to find a way to defend Robinson even after a pitiful home defeat against one of the poorest teams in the division.

By the time Robinson made the substitutions we were already on the back foot and badly losing the midfield battle (having previously dominated). Chucking two inexperienced players on (one of whom is low on confidence and consistently being played out of position, and the other is a loanee with about 5 professional matches under his belt) in an attempt to change the tide was naive at best.

My last post , before the beers kick in.......
KR and our so called OUFC team......

WHAT Do You Do ? Were was YOU ?!
This game matters , more then you know , you have cheated us !
This was our cup final , no point lies about this , you know what sad thing is I don’t care about any game like this , to lose this and the way you did, makes me sick .

This team is close to the Kemp rubbish . Going to take a while to get over this shower.
I would say the beer has already kicked in.

and if KR wants to motivate himself and the squad then print off the comments from this thread, and stick them on the dressing room walls.

Over to you KR and squad, prove us wrong.......

Yeah it’s almost like we were desperate for an experienced head to calm everybody down as we continued to panic and sink deeper and deeper.

But you’re right we didn’t need Mousinho, or even Forde for that matter, because there were no signs of danger. Apart from all the things you mentioned.
we we doing it from the first whistle though and for all the anticipated calmness that you suggest we would still have kept doing it....my point was he wasn't needed because they were shite never looked liked scoring and only saw the ball because we couldn't pass to a team mate.

As is the norm on here we lose a game of football and why wasn't x y z playing....it was said on here after Pompey forde was shite yet today he was needed....You even mentioned yourself that Taylor should have gone off but this place would have been in even more meltdown if he was and the result was the same.

as i'm always saying it's a game of opinions but people calling for the manager to go because his subs today didn't workout yet only a few days ago his inspired substitutions turned the game our way against a fairly decent side.

i wont ever criticize anyone playing for Oxford and everyone blasting Easty but should it of ever got to that stage?

Come on! For months everyone has been calling for Agyei to play, now he's too inexperienced to come on for 20 minutes. It simply wasn't good enough from two players who are much better than that performance.

I haven't posted for a while, as I couldn't think of anything positive to say, and didn't want to fuel the negativity, but I've had enough of Karl Robinson.

Throughout the first season and a half, I thought he was arrogant, stubborn and pig headed, completely naive tactically, and a self obsessed ego maniac, with verbal diarrhoea, quick to blame ANYONE and ANYTHING but himself for our bad performances and defeats.

However, over the course of last season, I'd warmed to Robbo, he seemed to be learning from his mistakes, rectifying them, and putting the team before his ego, and it was reflected in the performance of the team last season, and I was happy when he signed his new contract, but now I'm wandering how much of that was actually down to Fazackerly?

Maybe that's what someone like Robbo needs, a calm, experienced head alongside him, to stop his ego getting out of control?!?

But now Faz has gone, and Robbo has returned to his old, arrogant self, refusing to accept his mistakes, refusing to bring in players we all know we desperately need, insisting on bringing in players we don't need, who are not good enough, totally unfit, and inexperienced, and refusing to drop players who are under performing, or play players in their best positions.

I'm convinced he reads this forum, as there's no way he can't see what we all can, he just doesn't want to admit he's wrong, so will blindly carry on doing what he wants, and on the rare occasion a result goes our way, he starts blowing smoke up his own a**e, with an "I told you so, I was right" attitude.

We've all been saying how Clare is awful at right back, but could be useful further forward, but Robbo repeatedly ignores this fact for weeks, then eventually plays him further forward, and Clare then has a great game, so the next match, Robbo drops him from the squad all together?!?

The guy has virtually no tactical awareness or nous. Forde and Mous were clearly needed in the 2nd half today, but Robbo decided to be a smart-a**e, and put players on with zero defensive abilities, and then threw them under the bus after the game, once again deflecting any responsibility away from himself.

People may disagree, but I think it was Robbo who cost us promotion in the playoffs, when he left Mous on the bench throughout the whole playoffs. Mous was one of our outstanding performers all last season, and was fit, but Robbo played Moore, leaving us without Mous's leadership skills and experience, and it cost us.

He still clearly hasn't learned from those kinds of mistakes.

The fact he won't comment on Eastwood, proves he is too arrogant, stubborn and pig headed a person to admit his mistakes, and will never have any kind of success until he does.

He needs to show some maturity and humility, and accept he's made a pigs ear of recruitment, tactics and team selections, otherwise his ego is going to be HIS and OUR undoing this season.
Clare wasn't in the squad today as he picked up a 5th yellow on Tuesday.

Stevens must start v Ipswich. Shodipo, Aygei & Sykes dropped from the squad for the game. Give Clare, Forde & Hall a chance as the 3 subs after their showing today. Team for 60 minutes were very good.

Robinson got it wrong today. He's got it wrong an awful lot during his time here. He's getting it wrong far, far too often lately.

yet another case of players not in the team that were previously criticized sudenly becoming better players when not selected after we lose a game of football

He is inexperienced at playing as a winger. He is a forward. Its like getting a builder to do a carpenters job. Now Karl won't change his formation to suit where players can play to the best of their ability.

I don't think we have a bad team and it would be interesting to see what another manager at the helm would be able to achieve with a formation/tactics tweek.

Whether Stevens is good enough to hold fown a starting position in a league 1 team or not, only time will tell.

However, there can be no questions regarding his development to date. I know someone who regularly watches Oxford City and they have sung the praises of Jack during his time there. Also you rightly share how he was regarded by everyone through the academy set up, not just about his performances but also the way he handled himself behind the scenes. He works hard at every aspect of his game but has really grown in confidence this last year and is ready to make the step up.

Although in fairness, Simon Eastwood has also put a lot of additional time into helping Jack and I'm sure he'll continue to work with him even if Jack takes his place.

Agyei has pace, and he came on when the defence was tired and weak. His starting position may have been wide, but he should have found himself through on goal with a little ingenuity and desire. I'm sorry, but it's difficult to defend his performance.
