Honest question Scotchers. What would it take for you not to defend Karl Robinson?

I get the feeling that even if he came round, pulled down his pants and did a steaming turd in the middle of your driveway you would be like "well maybe he had an upset tummy, poor guy"
I think this is the first time I’ve ever said this but I have to agree with Kip. KR deserves every bit of criticism he gets today. Acts like he knows what the derby means and we put in a performance like that. Any manager who knew what this derby means to us fans would not have allowed for that kind of gutless performance in the 2nd half.

no need at all to get personal with Eastwood, he seems a nice guy and let’s not forget he was loyal when big clubs were sniffing

It just so happens he’s an absolute calamity of a goalkeeper now and we should all feel within our rights to call him s**t, and believe me I’ve said it many times because he is truly terrible

But leave the personal stuff out

Sykes, Eastwood and Agyei all need to go in January.

Sykes was culpable for that second goal and was so so poor. Agyei hasn't improved at all since signing. Eastwood - words fail me.

I usually don't like singling out individuals for criticism.....but after losing to the worst Scum side that I can ever remember seeing, at home, after completely bossing the first hour - I think it's fair game today.

And that 30 minutes from Sykes joins my list of worst performances ever seen from an Oxford player (and I've been watching for ~30 years now).
He basically panicked and gave the ball away every time he received it; which is bad enough - but to then switch off and not track your runner into the box from a simple throw-in is just criminal. I know that James Henry has not been playing the way he can this year.....but he at least has experience and composure. At the moment, all Sykes seems to offer is energy and that's just not enough.

There's nothing much you can say about Eastwood. An utter, utter howler and sadly those have been piling up in the last twelve months. I think we need to give Stevens a run right now......and if he can't hack it, then we need to be prioritizing a new keeper in January.

And then that was KR's worst half as Oxford manager today.
I'm using the word twice in the same post.....but what you needed today was composure to see the game out against a terrible side that was offering nothing.
Instead he brings on three youngsters who ran around like headless chickens, took off his captain and possibly the MoM to that point who had been bossing the midfield in McGuane, and leaves the three guys who've seen it all before (Mous, Forde, Hall) twiddling their thumbs on the bench.

So, so bad - and if he, and they, don't get it together soon then we're at serious risk of Barrow on a Tuesday night next season.

Completely agree with the first part of that but Eastwood? His confidence has been shot since the play off semis and it seeps into the back line. Too many costly mistakes and he has bottled it again in the biggest match since the play off final.

If he does drop Eastwood then Stevens needs to have a proper run, ten games minimum. If we lose 5-0 in his first game and he’s responsible for three then you back him an keep him in the side. It’s not like other positions, it’s a lonely one and one where a proper connection with your defence takes time to build and trust each other.

Only Robinson knows if he can fully trust Stevens for an extended run of matches and take Eastwood out of the firing line for a prolonged period.

Subs thrown under the bus, Sykes in particular, Eastwood seems finished with a "no comment" from him, the players looked scared and nervous. Everyone to blame apart from himself.

Mrs Lounger and I spent 30 minutes screaming at Eastwood to think about keeping possession and every time he hoofed it forward. And, back it came, with interest. What is wrong with him?

I've given Eastwood the benefit of doubt so far this season - his mistakes up till now looked like limitations due to his ability. But today's duck up just looked like cowardice to me, unforgivable.

Robinson has to take a huge amount of blame.
Mcguane
Kelly
Shidipo
Henry
Only good for 50 mins
And Eastwood no longer the player he was.

Genuine question, do people think Karl’s job would be on the line if he hadn’t recently signed a big contract extension? He knows his job is safe as Tiger won’t pay him out of his 4 year contract. Getting sick of him saying what he wants us to hear over and over again with crap results.

"Subs thrown under the bus" - that is more than they deserve. KR may have made mistakes, but he should at least be able to expect the 3 players to play a bit - it was like we finished the game with 8 men.

Even before the extension I think it would take a lot more than this for Tiger to sack him, I know we only see and hear tiny bits from Tiger but I really think we could go down and Tiger wouldn’t sack him unless the fans made it untenable

History shows he doesn't trust stevens, hence Eastwood has played for longer than would have happened at other clubs. Also, other seasons when Eastwood has been injured, a loan is brought.
Having seem stevens play quite a lot, I don't believe he is the answer, a replacement first choice is needed. God, if stevens does come in, I do
hope I am proved wrong.

End of the day. It’s his job to get them motivated and the players played like they didn’t have enough passion and didn’t respect how much this big derby means to the fans.

Eastwood has been a real legend for us in the past, carrying on after major surgery, injury and (possibly) approaches from higher league sides. I think his form as been slowly sliding for the last couple of seasons, and at least he obviously needs to be rested for a while, but FFS we need to show some loyalty and not crucify the guy.

Robinson’s interview should get more stick than it’s getting from the local media. It’s all the players, is it Karl? They lost it on their own yeah? You say we didn’t keep the ball and were panicking - where was Forde then? Why isn’t he in the middle of the pitch giving us energy and calmness, either when Kelly is blowing or when McGuane needs removing? Two opportunities to get him on and you failed. If Mousinho isn’t a total crock why didn’t you have him on next to Gorrin after 80/85 minutes shoring things up and helping people stay cool? If you’re going to remove both wingers then why isn’t Robbie Hall, who has good experience in these games, any sort of option for even 15 minutes instead of a temperamental loanee and a striker you absolutely insist on battering the confidence out of week after week? Why have you put Agyei on the wing AGAIN when he CANNOT play there, which not only nullifies him offensively as he is forced to work in tighter areas, but also means we suffer defensively because he does not know how to track back effectively? The guy chased and scrapped with centre backs all night at Portsmouth, so when you’re saying we stopped pressing their centre halves why the hell wasn’t he given that task for ten minutes instead of Taylor?

Sorry, Karl, but you absolutely fluffed your lines today, and the fact that you have come out and nailed players to the mast is the mark of you. You do this every time the going gets tough, just like in the first full season when you started saying player X, Y and Z weren’t your players, and any other nonsense you come out with on the spot to deflect. A lot of people might be too blinkered and/or stupid to remember what you do and say and apply it down the line when you contradict yourself, but I’m not. You bottled Wembley and you bottled the derby. Take some responsibility for that.

Okay okay... hang on a minute.

It was a shocker and maybe it is indeed time for a change, but a useless c**t,, Really!!

Please behave yourself ... Easty has been a legend for us for a good number of years and this sort of comment is totally unacceptable.
But he hasnt been a legend for us. He has been an average-dodgy keeper for well over 2 seasons. He now drops clangers regularly and saves his worst for our most important matches....
