Getting the crowds back in

From the list I've seen at work today, there's going to be a constant stream of people coming to the stadium over the next few months for their vaccinations.

It won't be the most painful experience that we've had at that venue - Boom boom!

ST Holders first??

From a commercial viewpoint, ST holders can already see the game via IFollow, so the club could sell all allowable tickets on a first come first served basis - doubt it would be popular but it is the only way to generate any new income
I agree. I can't see how the club can make money from opening the terraces again to 4000 or 2000 fans if they are all season ticket holders. Those fans won't be paying anything to come into the stadium so, if anything, the club will lose money because they'll have to pay stewards etc.

Not saying that fans in the ground won't help the performances on the pitch but commercially I can't see it being worth our while.

Even teams who own their own grounds and normally sell 10,000, 20,000 or more tickets per game will suffer losses while its only season ticket holders in the ground, limited to a few thousand allowed in and no beer or food sales allowed IMO.

While being allowed to watch games live will have a positive impact for some fan's socially and mentally, I can't see it being that positive for clubs at our level - unless I'm missing something.

Tier two maybe, I can’t see many places down south I gotta in tier 3, that will be the North.
Hope youre right .....though bojo did hint in his 7pm that areas were likely to be in higher levels than may be expected

To (possibly) put people's minds at rest, until we went into "lockdown light" at the start of November, Germany had fans at stadiums. Also depended on local authorities and regulations on how many were allowed in. There were exhaustive concepts in place and stadiums were not found to be a source of infection or outbreaks.

As I've said, this isn't about income right now, it's about honouring the income already received and protecting future income.

Many of those who bought season tickets also gave up on half a dozen games last season. Their loyalty can only be stretched so far, and the expense on getting crowds back in is nothing compared to the potential of losing this future income.

Those fans have already paid, it’s not free to get a season ticket. If season ticket holders were not allowed back in because the club could not afford it then they would only end up having to pay back people like me who ask for their money back, I haven’t donated the money to club (already done that for all the games I couldn’t attend last and so far this season) I have paid to attend games when possible, it’s now possible, I expect to be able to go (with likely restrictions obviously).

Great news. My opinions on it all:

Tickets should be made available to ST holders first with any left offered to members then the public.

Fans should be on the database already and not live in a higher tier area than what Oxford is in.

Fans should enter via the large gates in the corner with the handheld barcode scanners being used to scan tickets. Fans can walk alongside the pitch to their seats thus minimising time in the inside concourses.

Fans with same addressees can sit together others will need to sit socially distanced. Gathering bubble information too complicated and can be abused.

Stewards everywhere to advise and direct people and their direction must be followed.

Fans to be in their seats 30 mins before kickoff to allow time before kick-off to get people on the right seats. Gates to close 30 mins before kickoff.

No concessions open to reduce queuing inside. Fans should be allowed to bring food and drink for personal/household bubble use only.

4/5 people max allowed in toilets at anyone time. Fans should be advised to avoid going but if they need to avoid half time and immediately after the game.

Fans to stay in their seats until all players/officials have left the pitch then fans leave via the pitch and the large gates nearest to their seat.

Fans to go straight to their cars or leave the stadium land immediately, no stopping and chatting.

People's should only buy tickets if they are prepared to stick to the rules. If you're the sort that doesn't like being told what to do and where to go then stay away.

Its very possible to do it safely at the Kassam, the large spaces between the stands and between the stands and the pitch are a huge help now!

It won't be a usual match day experience and it may not be the most enjoyable but its better than nothing.

Crikey ! Easier to stay at home and watch Soccer Saturday, I know there’s a pandemic but you do realise watching live football is supposed to be enjoyable ?

What about the ST holders that frequent the South Stand, they're mainly over 60 and considered vulnerable?

Well if you've purchased a season ticket then the club would have had to have arrangements in place regardless of any on the day attendance. But I take your point - it's an additional cost at the moment with no extra income. So why not ask the club what the costs per staging each match would be and divide it by the likely attendance to get a cost per STH and then place large buckets at the entry points so that ST holders could (if they wished) make a donation to help the club (purely voluntary). A couple of quid each thrown into a bucket means a few thousand to help the club out.

Will we be able to get 4k in socially distanced?
Teams with big grounds won't have a problem.

Most of that’s entirely understandable and wouldn’t hugely detract from my enjoyment of the game. I would have gone in October had if we didn’t have lockdown 2 so if it’s what we have to do until infection rates come down further and more fans are allowed in then give me that over iFollow any day of the week.

The original plan showed that, depending on social bubbles, they could safely get around 4500 in. With empty seats either side of those attending, it was easier to have 1000 groups of 4 rather than 4000 individuals, but the model was workable either way.

I sincerely hope you are attempting humour with this remark.

You worry about yourself son and leave us "over 60's" to look after ourselves. I'd be more concerned about the younger elements displaying little regard for the restrictions necessary.

Someone should have told the club that the bubble thing was too complicated before they collected all of the data.

Everybody to be in their seats 30 mins before KO is the single most stupid idea I've heard on the subject - use all of the time available and send people straight to their seats.

Come on it’s outside and in fresh air. Cheltenham in March didn’t cause an outbreak. People going to the beach didn’t cause an outbreak.

It’s people mingling in small enclosed spaces indoors without adequate hygiene and ventilation that spread it.

If they tell us to wear a mask once inside the ground or on way to seats that’s fine.

Have you been shielding throughout?

Been in any supermarkets, pubs?

The way club had it originally planned from the time they were set to allow fans back in, you’ll be very safe at the Grenoble road.
Yes I have been shielding since the start as I belong to the extremely clinically vulnerable group, and have been very careful, I haven’t been to pubs or supermarket, only trips have been drs, dentist and hospital, real rock and roll lifestyle, as yet I can see no information about suitable vaccine for blood cancer patients in remission, so that’s why I am reluctant to return, I renewed my season ticket this year as a act of support for the club, I only managed to get to 5 home games the previous season due to chemotherapy treatment

No singing

NO SHOUTING

Take a knee before kick off

No gesturing at the opposition bench

POlite clapping only if we score, then apologising to the opposition manager for ruining their day

Hands to be sanitized every 15 minutes

No looking at the pitch

No phoning your mate

No videoing a free kick or penalty

All food and drink to be drenched in disinfectant before consumption

All stewards to wear jacket number 106

All on the pitch before the game under the sprinklers which will be squirting handgel

No one who has a premiership team as their @second@ team to be allowed to attend

I don't think you have to justify yourself to anyone. Everyone will have different circumstances and shouldn't be judged either way. It goes against the grain, but it's only a chuffing game and you should always put your health above everything else.

Take care and I hope that you're well enough, and protected enough, to get to games safely soon.
