Current Player #8 Cameron Brannagan

The eyes are our most important of the senses and it is heartening to hear that your wife was looked after very well.
My wife was diagnosed with glaucoma and it took nagging on my part for her to see an optician who referred her to hospital. Undiagnosed and untreated it can lead to blindness. I try to avoid her driving at night as it causes a lot of flashing which is distracting.
The hospitals in Oxford are amongst the best in the country, one reason why I want to relocate back to Oxford
Sometimes we all get stuck down with negativity, but we have so much to be grateful for. Our little one had a difficult birth, and then my wife had her condition, but throughout this all the JR were incredible. Everyone we dealt with at every level was absolutely wonderful and genuinely caring.

We are lucky with the Hospitals around here as we have some of the best. The doctors, nurses and all the staff down to the cleaners etc, bar the very odd exception, have been very good.

Great news. Without a doubt we do miss him. He needs to recover first then play football second. It seems he can train on his own from today and then join in with the others after his course of steroids to allow for his immune system to recover. The eye hospital are fantastic, my son was there this week.

Excellent interview putting many things in perspective.
Very positive young man who is on the road to recovery.
As someone who has been on a wide variety of steroids for 5 months I empathise with Cam as to how it makes you feel without realising.
Get well soon young man.

Great to hear the good news

So is the suggestion that this was a one-off thing and that he is on track for an eventual full recovery (however long that takes) and never to hear from it again, or is this now something that will have a long term impact on his vision and/or that there is the potential of a recurrence at some point?

let’s hope that’s the end of it and he can get back to what he loves doing

Reminds me so much of the Jamie Brooks sudden illness that in effect ended his very promising career. It rather upsets me still as along with Les I visited Jamie in hospital several times. I just hope Cam has a better outcome and is back playing at his high standards soon and am encouraged that his prognosis is very encouraging. Good luck Cameron.

Yeah, good news indeed. KR was so cagey in his initial comments that I thought it might be something really nasty (ie problems with eye sight are an early symptom). So onwards and upwards get back on the pitch soon CB!

Great news, let’s hope he comes back soon and looks as cool as Edgar did on the pitch

We are very lucky to have 3 major hospitals in Oxford. The John Radcliffe, Churchill, and Nuffield. All are at a very high standard, and have incredible specialists, and staff, from Surgeons to cleaners.

It’s a shame we don’t continue our applause for the work they do, yet we continue this BLM bullshit.

Great News Cameron, take your time, and wish you a speedy recovery!.

Fantastic news, take your time and I’m sure he will, we need you back but your health comes first.
All the best CB
