National News Covidiots.....

There really isn't a difference now other than snobbery value and in some cases higher quality or research opportunities (top end Russell Group/Oxbridge). Brookes and other "new" Universities do the same type of courses etc.
But all respect to those who have studied at the Poly/Brookes they wouldn’t have got into Oxbridge.
My niece went to Chesterfield university to study her nursing which she passed with too marks but Chesterfield university?

Oxford is #1 and Brookes #48, still above Coventry, Keele, and Hull, all with a pretty decent reputation. Think of it as top end League 2!

Yes maybe but Coventry and Hull were the same as Brookes a poly or a CFE think Keane was a university whereas Coventry not really classed as Warwick University but top end L2 more like top end of the National League?

And?

Well done to your niece. So Chesterfield University successfully provided the qualication she needed and will be as qualified as a nurse from Oxford etc. Indeed everybody won't get into Oxbridge but then Brookes and the like also produce lots of successful graduates/post graduates. Remember OUFC have linked up with Brookes quite regularly for their sports science expertise in the recent past.

I don’t think oxbridge do nursing, so that puts your niece ahead.

Hull isn't, as it started in 1927 as a college of University of London but got its own royal charter in 1954 which gave it University status.

I once hugged a very sweaty Ozzy Osbourne during his gig at Nottingham Rock City before propelling myself back into the swirling masses head-first. This was before his rise to new celebrity status via MTV's 'The Osbournes'.

I'm disappointed that you did not snog him. Poor show. :)

A lot Of this was the widening participation of middle England, working class and ethnic minorities which is a good idea, but the elite didn’t want it because they believed this was for the socially privileged and the economically
Successful with a few scholarships for the deserved.
It’s all wrong this class privilege, a lot of rgem wouldn’t do any hard graft in their working life.
My Nephew is a DC in Thames valley he plodded the beat as a PCSO for 3 years before applying to be a full time OB but the previous chief Constable think it was Hapgood said he wanted OB to apply with degrees only that is B*****s ( as you can see ) I learned from the university of hard knocks, a Cooper doesn’t have to have a masters in physiology or whatever he has to be sensible and no right from wrong. So privileged is for only those who don’t want to be part of society.
