Dear oh dear ?

Eastwood- 6. Some good saves, but part of the defensive calamity for the first, god knows why he was so far off his line, and poor to let the ball go through his legs for the 2nd. No doubt Stevens will be a lot of peoples preferred choice now, and I can see why, but it might do him more harm than good, as with that backline in front of him, any keeper would struggle, let alone a keeper with virtually zero senior experience at this level. It's an inexperienced, patched up defence as it is. A real dilemma.

Clare- 6. Going forward, he looks like he could be very useful, moves at pace with the ball, and can go past people, but soooo naive defensively, and gifted the 2nd goal on a plate, with awful positioning and a complete lack of defensive nous. Can see him being an asset in a more advanced role, but HE. IS. NOT. A. RIGHT. BACK.

Moore- 5. Poor balls out of defence, not very mobile, and doesn't really look good enough to be considered our number 1 CB. Must improve.

Long- 5.5. Can't fault his commitment, and he did try to make things happen for us, with a few supporting runs and passes out of defence, but was part of the defensive calamity for the first goal, and made mistakes with his positioning, because HE. IS. NOT. A. CENTRE. BACK.

Ruffels- 5. Poor defensively, was turned inside out repeatedly, and was part of the defensive calamity for the first goal. Should've done better with his header. Must improve, as he's all we've got in that position.

Kelly- 4.5. Sideways passing, and no real presence, again. Must make way for Gorrin now.

Henry- 7.5. MOTM. Put in a real shift, was at the heart of everything positive going forwards, and didn't deserve to be on the losing side, however, he should've done better with his header.

Forde- 7. Did well on the left side of midfield. Very good passing, got stuck in, closed down well, and always looking to make something happen when in possession. Solid first team player now.

Sykes- 6. Not convinced by him this season to be honest, clearly talented, and has his moments, but decision making and final ball/crossing needs to improve. And needs to get in the gym, so he can compete physically.

Taylor- 6. Good hold up play and use of the ball at times, and a great cross for Henry's header, but not getting the ball in the key areas, in order to do what we need him to do, which is score goals.

Agyei- 6. Had a good battle with Thompson early on, and looked useful, but once again, faded.

SUBS:
Osei- 4. Sorry, but he looked awful. Poor control, and looked a bit lost.
Winnall- 4.5. Looks unfit, and didn't do anything of note, other than a lung busting run, chasing back after losing the ball, only to then give away a foul!
Gorrin- 6.5. A good run out, and in the 20 minutes he was on the pitch, had more presence than Kelly has in the previous 4 games, with more bite, aggression and desire. Must start on Tuesday.

With the ball, and going forward, we don't look too bad, but we look toothless in front of goal, and need to be more aggressive and ruthless and take some more risks in the final third.

Defensively, we are a shambles. There's not a single leader in that backline. It's full of inexperience and players playing out of position.
Robbo has a lot to answer for, for thinking we could survive a season with the defenders we currently have in the squad, and expecting midfielders, and wingers and kids to provide the cover we need, it is incredibly naive, for a manager who has been in the game for over a decade now.

We must improve, individually, and as a team, and make ourselves hard to beat, otherwise it's gonna be a long hard season.

Yes all that makes perfect sense as we have only created 45 chances in two matches..but you are completely right we are one dimensional, side ways crab football.

We are poor defensively not going forward.
45 chances going forward is all well and good, how many on target or goals scored?
14 chances today but only 4 on target, no goals scored.

He slipped and couldn't get in position, it was the same with Ruffels leaving Eastwood in no man's land.

Feel free to mention any other mistake from Long?
Yep couldn’t see that but it was obvious something had gone on as long was almost tripping over Ruffels in a central position.

If we are creating 40 plus chances over two games, losing both and being rock bottom of the league then the situation is more worrying than i imagined.
I never said it wasn't worrying, I said you saying we aren't creating anything isn't true. When we start putting some of these chances away and I am confident that will happen things will look a little better, don't worry yourself.

Posts plural....cheeky.

So mr everythings perfect..lets all be happy that were rock bottom of the league and have won one in 10 matches or whatever the stats are.

Isnt it natural to try and find a solution?

Why are we playing a right back at centre back,? Who coincidently made a big mistake and may have cost us the game.

Why are we playing a player who is obviously not a RB at RB? Clare has shown he has pace and skill. Correct me if i am wrong but he has played RM most of his career?

Gorrin has all the attributes to be a decent CB. Strong, awareness and can defend. i would rather him play DM but he is potentially a solution to get other players playing in their natural position.

Why are you pretending everythings perfect and sniping at posters who arent happy. Does that help you get on your high horse?
Playing Gorrin as a central defender would result in a penalty and red card 9 times out of 10 ffs!

Thompson’s Header in the first half he never made the effort to get to the ball, I would prefer him as our RB I’m happy with him there.

Agree on the whole but think that's harsh on sykes, he was our most dangerous player until he got subbed. Crossing could be a little better but he is so skillful and such a willing runner.

I agree with your shouts at Long and Clare and overall pretty accurate Henry was back to what we know he can do and I think Forde may have just shaded for MOM

"There's a lot of things I still want to do." kr still wants to bring in players. "Some players are not as good as we thought." Looks like certain players could/will be on their way out of the club.
If this is the case why not bring them in in the main window?
Osei Yaw? Hanson?

No-one never ever concedes goals either, it happens.

If we were losing every game 4-3 then I’d solely be worried about the defence. But we’re not scoring...
Ipswich doing pretty well on 2 goals conceded in 6 without scoring 3 a game.

TBH old school football management was always that if you aren't winning the first place you look is your central midfield...

This happens every year, makes you wonder why really.
To many injuries, again.
IMO both are at least partially a product of KR's barking mad 'lets play five games in six days' preseason. It doesn't leave enough time between games to analyse what we did well or not in each game and put the poor things right in training. So the players end up making the same mistakes for five games running and getting into a pattern. They then have to put things right once the proper matches start. I'm also not convinced that playing when fatigued is a good idea for long term fitness - that sort of schedule is something you *never* have to do in the normal scheme of things, so why do that in pre-season?

I would argue if you dont concede you dont lose any game no matter how bad your goal conversion is.

If you don't score, you don't win and if you don't score pressure builds on the defence. Scoring puts pressure on the opponents and their defence instead.
