Matches Crewe

TBH I can understand our club's concerns. It seems like Crewe did not do full squad testing after Wintle was +ve and only took this action after Beckles +ve test became public. More players then did test +ve last week so I can understand that we would want some assurance that the squad coming down Tuesday had current tests. If there was any ambiguity or lack of clarity over that from Crewe then to protect our players has to be paramount.
The behaviour of Crewe on 3rd Oct probably undermined our confidence that they are following protocols and thus raised our concerns to a higher level.
I think that’s fair.

In one of the articles released today (not sure which one) Artell says the EFL called it off. I was told PHE called it off, and the EFL relayed that to the club. So that differs slightly to what Artell said.

However artell did say PHE had been into the training ground this week to check the clubs protocols. So PHE have definitely been involved. So it seems to me that they have lent on the EFL. I was told ‘we can’t play again until we get the squad tested’. That has got to have come from PHE.

That would contradict the EFL statement tweeted at 3pm on Tuesday where Crewe, the Club, were 'unable to fulfil' the fixture.

Artell said the following which doesn't say the EFL called it off but implies maybe they were involved: '“I understand that the EFL act cautiously but there has to be some justification to it and not just based on falsehoods and accusations from another football club and them kicking off."

That's an insinuation of blame back at Oxford based on nothing. I, like you and all Crewe fans, want the truth. That falls with the EFL and unless they send out a statement telling everyone exactly what happened, the clubs, managers and fans are going to be at loggerheads.

????

Couldn`t find a "keep it zipped" emoji.

I understand how someone (unnamed) could send screenshots of text messages (not in a pub) between two parties.
I don`t understand how someone (unnamed) could send evidence of a conversation unless that was also by text or similar method.

I refer to my original assessment that there are so many "mis-truths" being bandied about, primarily from "the other side", that even they have forgotten what the truth is.

Question for you @Crewe. Who exactly called the game off? EFL statement says that your team couldn't fulfil the fixture. That implies someone at your end had to inform the EFL about this.

Artell says 'the board' were incredulous about the game not going ahead too which suggests it was not one of them.

Crewe as their statement on Tuesday says:

Unless evidence of the conversation was within the messages, of course.

Seem to remember Crewe is all about the railway station, maybe you can get the last train to trancentral from there?

Bazza, every question you asked was already answered. Everything that was sent to Malc was relayed in that thread. The only thing I didn’t say was Crewe were accusing Oxford of reporting them to PHE, because I knew it would go down like a lead balloon.

Smacks of trying to divert blame considering we prepared for the game, had all the players turn up, KR only found out the game was off when he was driving to the game as per his immediate interview. The club was pushing iFollow sales etc as well. Would be an expensive and bizarrely elaborate cover up from us for reporting Crewe.

If only Crewe had actually tested everybody after the 1st positive case...
