And also, what hasn’t really been touched on is that Beckles’ actions (whatever his intentions were) got the initial game called off. Crewe had 2 players in the starting 11 that day who would go on to test positive 2 days later. So however we stumbled upon it, the absolutely right decision was made in the first PP. And the only reason we got to that decision was because of Beckles.
Or they may very well have caught it due to being in an enclosed space with him on the coach trip down when he should have been staying home!

TBH I cannot find any official guidance on private testing. I am just going off what I have heard. Also, my brothers employer tests once a week and when they are in between results they don’t have to self isolate.
I don’t think there is any difference there can’t be, otherwise for the sake of the economy the testing stations would be the same so as to keep people working

One assumes that if someone at OUFC tests + the week before the rearranged game, we will all keep schtum until the railwaymen are in the shed that we’ve put up as a changing room, and then we can call the game off on morale grounds.....

wait...that would probably mean we get docked 3 points as well.

That’s daft, your brother unfortunately gets the symptoms but can carry on working before the next test come into contact or certainly until he gets his results back, ie tested Monday 9am Tuesday 9 am his test comes back positive, who has he been in contact with in the previous 24 hours?

I have no clue what any of this means.
Your saying your brother gets tested once a week but van keeps working beteeen tests but surely if your brothers test comes back 24 hrs later ( god forbid ) positive but was able to carry on working from said test to the result, surely those he has been in contact with would then have to isolate until they get the all clear?

There is a clear difference. If you get tested by the NHS, technically you only do so if you have symptoms or test and trace have instructed you to. Whereas a private test can be taken by anyone at any time. Hence companies run in house testing. Also the Premier League test twice a week privately. Their players and staff don’t isolate on every occasion until their results come back.

If test and trace deem them as close contacts, then yes of course. That’s the point of in house testing.

Think you're being a little harsh here. @Crewe has been clear on the distinction between legal and moral.
He has justified barely meeting a legal criterion as acceptable behaviour, in a time when we’ve a global pandemic resulting from the entitled masses dodging accountability and utilising each and every available loophole, just as long as they don’t have to contribute a personal sacrifice for the greater good. The amount of my professional time spent these days opposing woo, disinformation, excuses and outright belligerence is what’s “maddening” so you’ll forgive my appearing “harsh”.

Shouldn't you be criticising Beckles for this not Crewe?

It was Beckles who didn't isolate and inform his contacts. Crewe didn't know about the test until he told them he had tested positive.

Once Crewe knew about the test and the positive result he was sent home and didn't travel to the stadium.

They all P**s in the same shambolic pot.
We don`t know the truth, barring Crewe are trying to dodge the bullets in cahoots with the EFL, and we are now looking forward to a 3rd date for a match that they have caused to be rescheduled... twice.
Apply the same rules as Rugby, 1 rescheduled date, fail that other team gets the points. At least rugby can progress and complete a season.
We will be left "trying to play Crewe" possibly until Christmas or beyond and all because they couldn`t organise a P**s up in a brewery.
It really isn`t as complicated as they are making out.

Don’t lie. Bang out of order.

I believe I called Beckles both an ‘idiot’ and ‘thick’ for his actions. You, my friend, are a liar.

Can I just reiterate for what seems the millionth time. I think Beckles was stupid for not self isolating. Reckless. Thick. However, nothing will happen to him from a legal sense because LEGALLY he has done nothing wrong. Morally of course he has. I’ve said that from the get go. The below shows that the Police won’t be fining him.

They must have a massive boardroom at the EFL judging by the amount of stuff they seem to sweep under the carpet. Wonder if they ever get hit with any FOI requests?

Sigh. Ok, I forgive you. This is absolutely the last time though.

Why didn’t he isolate the 7 days you seemed to think it was ok for him to isolate for 3 days.

Beckles did not have symptoms, so isolated from his test day.
