I agree that out of the 3, May would have been the best bet for this crisis. We can complain though because some of us didn't vote for this Govt. :)

Forgot to add this forum tends to be a microcosm of parliament. Too many people to quote the French are un dialogue de sounds. They only speak and don't listen. You cannot argue your position successfully unless you fully understand the other side of the argument. Simply shouting louder or abusivily really shows the weakness of your argument and an inability to debate

Come on, a degree in "Artistic make up and special effects" , "Concept & Comic Art (BA)?
What useful purpose will they serve society?

I hope this is some sort of 'joke'? Films, theatre, 'graphic novels', design concepts and the specialised like are huge industries and subjects of importance in those industries. And people need training to go into those industries - which make an absolute fortune for this country and employ a lot of people.
Or do you think that industry equates to making physical goods? Because if you do, that ship has long sailed out of British waters.
It's very easy (and lazy) to sneer at students and the courses they take - but you are way way wide of the mark with this.

You almost get the impression that some people love how high our death rate is - dragging it back out again whenever they fancy making a political point of it.

Say what you want about Labour but at least they're actually being quite respectful and not politicising death. That would be the cheap and easy thing to do at a time like this.

It’s a distasteful insinuation that anyone would politicise COVID deaths; where is the evidence that the Govt. or any other politician has done this or intimated that they would?

No you don't. You're just trying to distract from the appalling facts. Fight facts with facts not unsubstantiated insinuations.
 
Yes lets just ignore it. How dare people politicise it? Johnson is a genius and it’s bad form to mention
that yesterday UK has recorded its highest ever daily number of coronavirus cases and the largest number of deaths since July 1

We should show proper respect for someone who went to Eton.

Anyone discussing the fact that thousands of people have died needlessly or that Johnson has wasted billions on corrupt deals is unpatriotic and trying to distract the board from the glorious sicccess of Brexit.
 
Lets put the "thousands of excess deaths" which there have been into some measure of perspective.
Now some of those could have been easily avoided, the transfer of infected patients from hospital`s to care homes and vice versa is the biggest fudge up.
However, for balance, there wasn`t a specific test for SARS-Cov2 available in sufficient quantities initially as it was a novel virus.
In the time that elapsed between the DNA of the virus being identified and the testing being produced there should have been a moratorium on patient transfers although that would have had consequences such as overloaded hospital wards or clinically ill patients left to die in care homes, so it isn`t an easy fix.

As for the "chaos" of local restrictions it`s simple......read what is happening where you live and don`t worry about other places unless you have cause to go there.
Simple eh?
