Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

Its not Taylor we should be putting down, have a look at the ones who are supposed to be supplying the chances for him, last season most was from Henry for example who at the present time along with others has been way off form, so give the bloke a chance it will come.

Taylor is good enough to score half chances and the expectation of him should be better than just side footing home a tap in laid on a plate for him from 5 yards out. The chance against Sunderland was exactly that - a half chance but a chance nevertheless.

In the play off final he didn’t once make a run across the defence and while the balls in weren’t exactly Beckham-esque they were crying out for getting in front of the defender and just making enough contact to direct it goal-wards. Perhaps he wasn’t fully fit I don’t know but he’s heading towards double figure games without a goal and that’s a worry.

Yeah, in an ideal world, before the window closes, I'd make way in the squad for 1 quality CB, 1 quality LB to really push Ruffs. 1 quality RB, 1 speedy wide player, capable of playing on both wings, 1 quality creative midfielder, and another striker, and all 25-30 years old, and good solid pros at this level!

Wishful thinking, I know, and it won't happen. But these are the kinds of players we should've been signing, so we had a good balanced squad in all areas, with a good blend of quality youth and experience.

Surely players like Hanson, Napa, Osei, Jones, Asongyi and Elechi, can't have been viewed as the quality in depth that was gonna get us through the season with a view to promotion?!?

Loaning those guys out would free up 5 places straight away?!?

Loaning out the majority of those players wouldn't make much difference with the squad numbers as Napa, Jones, Asonganyi and Elechi don't count towards it being u21 at the start of the year. Only Hanson and Osei of those going out would free up a squad place.

Napa may be going out anyway to Woking on loan if they actually start their season according to rumours.

No, but similarly a heartbeat probably means the obituary is premature
Of course. I have been vocal about his performances and I think we can all agree that he has been WELL below his best, even before the play offs.

I want him to play well because when he is on it, we are a better team. I just hope he takes this as a big confidence boost and pushes on from here.

I thought Sean Clare was a number of levels below a L1 footballer. Really worrying.

We've had crap side backs for ages. Ruffs ain't good enough for where we want to be either. Sorry.

Mmm. Not sure I agree with any of that.

To be honest I personally dont think Taylor is doing much wrong. He’s worked his nuts off in the last two games and, in the Sunderland game especially, was dealing with balls pumped up to him from all over the place. Thats not his game. For him to be effective he needs players around him creating openings and putting good balls into the box for him to get on the end of. He’s just not a workhorse ‘no. 9’ whos going to wrestle with big centrebacks for 90 minutes. If I remember correctly, he had one decent ball into the box against Sunderland which he headed back across goal, unlucky not to score himself or set somebody else up.
Proved spot on I reckon

I think we are 3 players away from being done.

We need a quality forward to replace Browne. Marcus Maddison would be perfect.

We need a quality defender to give Moore & Atkinson serious competition for the season.

Throw in a young PL youngster on loan as they don’t count towards the squad cap.

We need Gorrin & Ruffels back ASAP. Henry & Taylor also need to get in the stride very soon as they’re key.
I think your last request came true today
