Home Match Day Thread 19/09/20 L1 - OUFC v Sunderland

I think being fair that after the amount of quality players lost in the past couple of seasons ( Nelson, Dickie, Whyte , Baptist, Fosu ) along with loans ( Browne , Cadden ) sooner or later a fallow year when we don't pick up the same quality will happen . The down after the play off loss is bound to have an effect as well .

Apparently KR always has a post match conversation with Tiger. Having just signed up for the next 4 years twisting Tiger's arm for another £1m is a lot cheaper than giving KR... "a vote of confidence" so I would suggest we may see a lot of activity this week - in as well as out! Clare though does look like a big mistake.

No, but I am sure you'll tell us with your forever positive spin on just about anything.

Wouldn’t want his mate getting annoyed with him and telling the bigger kids in the playground...

They might stop letting him have the dregs of their pop when it suits them..

Further still, the big boy’s GF may not come to speak to the rest of the class about certain things if he doesn’t toe a certain line...

That so Scotchegg....

Forde and Hall didn’t start today as they physically couldn’t. They were gone after the game in the week so couldn’t possibly start today.

Forde will start the next league game and hall may even be in contention if he stays fit long enough..

I'd be happy to see Forde start.

I think after Marcus Browne equalised for Middlesbrough I think we can kiss that one goodbye on coming here.
Well we don’t have a left back or right back so instead of playing players out of position how about we play everybody in a position they’re comfortable in? Surely that would be more rationale?

kr would have to raid Amazon to get more "How to play" videos, similar to the ones he's got Clare watching. How about Eastwood up front with Taylor?

Today demonstrated how much we miss Gorrin, Ruffles . And of course Dickie.

Our game depends on winning plenty of ball in midfield. Kelly is not strong or quick enough. Henry looks shot, Sykes is playing like he wants out. The engine room was inadequate.

Clare cannot play orthodox right back, he cannot mark his man. He does have ability but needs to be further up the pitch, he appears on early view to be a right footed Luke Garbutt.

I also thought Osei Yaw did better than Taylor and should have been kept on.

Lot of work needed on the training ground, this was shoddy stuff against well drilled but really quite limited opponents.

This KR.

We miss Chris Cadden. Clare is a pale imitation.

I’m always worried when an Oxford manager starts desperately changing formation, flailing around for a shape to try and find a performance.

Henry needs a spell out of the team.

Can anyone give an example where we have successfully played 3 at the back before?

What’s that got to do with anything? If we’d played it brilliantly three seasons ago with a completely different set of players would that mean we could do it again now?
