Exploit the fact it is a Community Assett and get "us" involved with any re-furb.
Like a giant version of DIY SOS.........................
In fairness that wouldn't be a bad shout, if it saved the club rather than Kassam.

I volunteered with my daughter to help move a load of things around at the end of the season with OxVox, and we really enjoyed giving a little something back into the club. Peter Rhodes-Brown and others were around to help out and it made it feel more like a community club.

I know there may be less volunteers to scrub the toilets, but I'm sure there will be tradesmen who would be happy to give a few hours of help.

The Manor was built in some part by volunteers but this was of course before the days of extreme H&S - not sure a working party would be allowed these days.

I'm not talking about building the stadium, but doing necessary repairs and refurbishments. The work could be signed off by a professional body.

Assuming that Firoka are meant to do this - it would really stick in my throat if OUFC fans did it FOC. GGrrrrrr.

If we got a reduction in services charges, and made the stadium facilities better whilst bringing the club and community closer together, it would be a win, win, win situation!

I can't help feeling that this is exactly what FK relies upon. Not only does he still collect an increasing licence fee for using the stadium but also a service charge (also subject to increase) and then gets away with doing nothing. He might defer an annual increase in the service charge but reduce? No chance.
The last legal battle was based on non compliance with the service charge and where did that lead? Eales walked away and Tiger had to foot the bill for a case that was bogged down in legal mumbo jumbo and only caused FK to become ever more intransigent with the application of the licence agreement.

The club has two options. Persist with the attempt to get FK to agree a sale (no chance) or, pack up and move on.

Just how many years have been wasted by one chairman after another going cap in hand to FK and offering wheelbarrow loads of cash? HE IS NOT INTERESTED.

I agree that deals from Kassam are unlikely, and we should expect more.

But no one would go to a cold and dirty cinema with 3rd world toilets, no matter how good the film was. Or eat in a dirty restaurant etc. Families and the elderly or vulnerable may be far more reluctant to enter the stadium in the present covid world, and it is vitally important that we do all we can to maximise revenue.

If we can do that by getting the community on board to do some vital maintenance then that has to be a good thing.

Difference in the other chairman's was they never had the money to match Kassam and give him what he was asking. They were trying to get kassam to drop the price.

The board now if their is money to be made on the ground redevelopment and ozone leisure park could offer what ever kassam wanted.

Time will tell with this one I'm guessing.

Interesting that, although he is in his mid-sixties. One of FK`s squad with several roles in FK companies.

Maybe FK is readying to sell up... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

He was one of the original directors if memory serves. No idea how significant this might be and as you say, he's probably just off for an extremely comfortable retirement, funded in no small part by us....

No idea if he's younger or older than Kassam  but I thought they were similar vintage....is it beyond the realms of possibility that Kassam will overcome his addiction to making money and just go for the easy life for his remaining years? - I'm not sure he has to work all that hard for the coin to come rolling in any more . . . .although Covid could change that, given that a large part of his empire is in the "hospitality" sector....

Ashwini has resigned all his remaining Firoka directorships (11 of them). He is still director (currently) of Feroza Kassam's property companys (ELLIOT HOUSE AND HORNBEAM LIMITED & ELLIOT HOUSE SERVICES LIMITED)

Ashwini is 64, Firoz is 65.

Hmmm.....come on Fizza...do the decent thing and enjoy a few stress free years living off your substantial gains.....now is the time to rid yourself of the ongoing thorn in your side that is the Kassam Stadium....no longer do you need to worry about whether you can extract more money for less "investment" - relax...let it be our problem....you know it makes sense!!

Hmmm.....as soon as any work is done by a non-Firoka assigned resource, if anything subsequently goes wrong there's a nice liability argument for Firoka to employ - careful what you wish for.

Let's just not bother then!
