The other thing it`s almost a "free hit" for both teams.
Ask any supporter of either side if they would take being in the play off final at the end of the season and nobody would have said no.
Both us and them have grafted to reach the doorstep of what could be an impeccably timed arrival in the Championship as the entire structure of the game changes.
Almost like hitting the Premiershit when the first year of SKY money arrived.

And Boris is a FHC ! ? ? ?

They are a dangerous side and seem the strongest of all the four playoff teams - they’re strong, pacy and direct. They could easily bulldoze us and brush us aside - having said that, we could get our passing game going and knock it around them.

We need to have confidence in our passing game and not just hit long balls forward or take long shots like we did at times against Portsmouth - when we instead had the confidence to trust our process and play our way it was much better. To me, that means Dickie bringing the ball forwards out of defence and committing midfielders, Brannigan dropping deep and pinging the ball about and Henry not just shooting long every time but playing short probing passes around the oppositions box. Get that going and not many teams can live with us...
This is just my thought , they are very strong going forward . Direct for sure , and will bully us if we let them , l am going to change my thought , and say we need Mackie to start just for his experience .

It's going to be a really hard game. Wycombe, for their style, are a well organised and hard team to breakdown. It won't be easy on Monday and we will have to play a lot better than we have done over the last 2 games. No turning up to win, we turn up to work hard to earn the win.

I saw this stat the other day and I wasn't the only one who was surprised

Interesting.

Its such a hard one to call. On our day we get our passing attacking game going we can beat anyone. Slow start, stray passes, conceding set plays, and Wycombe will be all over it, with a style that would make Farmer Giles blush with how agricultural it is.

I think we have enough. Just.

I would start with Mackie. I know that seems counterintuitive butI would employ the same reasoning as the playoff semifinal. It might feel like longer because of the length of time that the Bundesliga and Prem have been back, but our players will still be at a fraction of full match sharpness, even with the extra week to recuperate. I'd bring Taylor on after about an hour again.

I'd start the whole team as it was on Monday. Sykes provided Long more cover than Woodburn, and I like having the options of Agyei, Woodburn and obviously Taylor off the bench (as well as Forde and Hanson if necessary).

I think with our two enormous CBs we are well equipped to deal with any long ball stuff, so I'm not too concerned on that front (although Akinfenwa, of course, does present a unique challenge). I agree with the slight bafflement at us being such strong favourites with the bookies - Wycombe might have lost some momentum but they were top of the league for months for a reason. They're a very effective side.

Can see it going to extra time. Too close to call for me.

Mackie to play the first 45 for me, especially as I suspect Taylor will not be fully fit. Dark arts may well be needed early on if we are not to be bullied.

Front seats on the positive bus @greatunclekip .................. ? (y) :)

Not sure where I saw it, but there was a stat this morning that apparently Oxford have made over 200 plays this season with 10+ passes, and Wycombe something like 12. Top and bottom of that statistic chart.

Thought that was on FB

Going to be a nervous watch for the cardboard hordes, reams of goals for us, and our defence to keep the Wycombe score stationery at 0. A3 to 0 win hopefully, A4 to 0 would be greedy. A glorious promotion to help paper over the last 20 years. Just as long as it doesn't go to pens.
