Manager/Coach Robbo to Brizzle City

Bristol City is a great job for someone. It’s a massive city yet to realise it’s potential football wise and will have undoubted appeal to a whole host of managers currently in work. Good infrastructure, redeveloped stadium and from the outside what looks like supportive owners.

I know he left Charlton to come here but they were run by a bunch of nutters and a much more troubled club. If we go up I think he’d want a crack at seeing how we handle the championship but there won’t be many, if any, L1 managers turning down the opportunity to manage Bristol City.

You also have to think that the Championship is the sort of proving ground where you get sacked after a run of 6/7 poor results. It happens lower down as well, but KR knows he's spent most of his time with us closer to the bottom of the table than the top, even the start of this season was a dud.

Johnson was one of the few managers in that division that seemed to have some security behind him, and even then Bristol C seem to think missing out on the playoffs is a sackable offense.

KR is not a results manager, he's a project manager. I think Bristol C would be a great fit for him, but I don't think he's going to jump between jobs on a whim, based on how happy he is here. But we'll see. There are plenty of potential offers he'd be silly to turn down, and his stock is the highest it's been since his MK days, plus experience added.

What ? I wonder, on that basis, if Coventry and Rotherham might get rid of their managers too or perhaps Wycombe will sack Ainsworth if they make it as he’s got zero experience in the championship.

It’s just farcical to think we’d replace a manager who will have masterminded our biggest league achievement since the golden era of Jim Smith in the early 80’s.

Since 96, surely?

On KR, I think people are underestimating Bristol City’s ambitions. His stock is high, but BC want to get into the PL and KR is hardly a proven Championship manager. He might be on a long-list but would imagine he’s pretty low down the pecking list.

Calm down. Of course it would be disappointing to lose KR if we manage to get promoted.

I don't see Ainsworth being attractive to any Championship team other than those on their way out of the league that need to go back to basics to prevent relegation. KR has a reputation for developing young players and this is usually very attractive trait for any club looking to hire. It would be sensible to have a plan B or C if he is poached.

You didn’t say if he was poached though, you implied the club might sack him?

All the ifs and buts about where we dropped points, you are missing the vital game that has cost us automatic promotion, yes, Ruffs got us in the playoffs at Shrewsbury, but the game that mattered was the home defeat to Rotherham, a draw would have put us second.

I know your source @greatunclekip his initials are BS he did have a record of reliable source, tomato, brown and mayo.

your post is full of it, and rather than come on here and give you s**t about the bullshit I read the 8 pages of their forum about a potential new manager .
Jokanovic seems to be a fans favourite, although Mark Robbins was mentioned but apart from Coventry not done much elsewhere. Kenny Jacket was mentioned also if Pompey lose the play offs,’Chris Coleman another name even Gerrard but no mention of Robinson in the 8 pages on the topic.

Well, what about all the great wins that could have been losses? Odd to focus on a few defeats

Blimey! People need to chill out a bit. A football fan has posted a rumour on a football forum!! It’s hardly unsettling the fan base!!!

Regarding Robinson I actually think the next couple of weeks is going to be pivotal for our club. We have a number of players yearning to play in the Championship and a manager with ambition. Go up and I think we’ll retain a good percentage of our squad, stay in L1 and we’re on course for another rebuild.
