Can't help but wonder why, given that he has only gone to hospital as a precaution, he chose to go at 8pm Sunday evening, just as the queen was speaking, rather than at 7 or 9pm - seems almost trumpesque in its timing!

Sometime in the future experts will be able to compare Sweden with other Scandinavian countries.

In particular the amount of deaths as a result of Covid-19.
How that compares to their usual annual flu virus figures.
How their relevant economies have been impacted by the government policies.
How many deaths that can be attributed to the resulting poverty, unemployment etc from any economic recession/depression.

Agreed and if they gave the message like you just did, clear, unambiguous, we might not have such a problem. But they don't. They flimflam. They needed to be clear and unambiguous from the start not keep changing the bloody message. This is not good leadership. This is infuriating!!

The problem they have is they don't want to completely lockdown as it will provide a challenge for people in certain types of accommodation, especially if you have kids.

However, it's largely not those people who are causing the problem.

Why does that cause their communication problem? No one wants a complete lockdown but due to the government's inconsistent and unclear messages it's now more likely.

ITU capacity.... there is currently plenty. We have 200 "spare" in one Trust. This might not be the same in other places due to location, population and capacity.

Around 65% of our confirmed cases have been discharged.

The virus is zoonotic.... it crosses species in both directions.

Going to the park..... its part of your exercise, for a walk etc.... its not a feckin excuse for meeting up with all your mates for a beer and a bar b q.

Social Media.......... exposing what a bunch of thick, needy, senseless bunch of feckwits society has become.

"Ooooo the government said I could go to the park so I went and hung out with my friends who were there too......." the level of stupidity and down right thickness is staggering.

It`s got feck all to do with the Government message.

I truly give up...................... exercise, run walk or cycle, from your front door for about an hour. Keep the social distancing.

Not hang out with your mates sunbathing, having a picnic etc all feckin day!

Because, as Essexyellows explains. they hold almost 2 contrary positions they are trying to maintain. Taking your dog to the park for a walk and exercise is fine. Playing a football match, sunbathing in groups, hanging about all afternoon is not. But people read what they want to read

Sadly, the massaging isn`t keeping to the social distancing....unless it is someone in your household. :):)

The key message is incredibly simple..... stay at home, protect the NHS, Save lives. The "problems" begin when individuals think that what they want to do supersedes that message.
