Refunds

Strange take. Why shouldn't people want money back now and re buy tickets when games resumeIf you've brought 2 or 3 tickets it could well be £50 plus, this could effect people financially not just the ability to watch football,
I think the reference is for ST holders anybody who has purchased a ticket for a home game could still get a refund whereas it’s more hassle for the club to sort it out, but with the games played so far ST holders have still made a saving.

I can’t believe people are seriously asking for a refund on the season tickets. They should take a long hard look at themselves. They’ve had more than value for money from the home games this season, and had priority on a number of cup games, and seen premier Lge opposition in West Ham, Man City, and Newcastle. They also got to see Will Grigg hit a moonshot in a penalty shootout.

I certainly won’t be asking for any kind of refund. In fact I’m more interested in renewing.

Agree on the season ticket holders part. Cant imagine many season ticket holders are doing that tho?

What a bizarre way of looking at it. I've a gig booked in Manchester for Saturday night, plus £100 for a hotel room. By your logic I've lost no money because its already spent, despite the fact no music has been performed and no service supplied?
So you see no discernible difference between the football club you support and a Manchester hotel?

Not only did I not say that, I didn't even come close to suggesting it. Its your logic that I am questioning.

And I don't think anyone has the right to criticise anyone if they want money back for something they don't get. I wont be asking for anything back, but that's my choice. As I've said before on this subject, there are different types of fan, if some want their money back then so be it.

My take is that if your financial situation is so bad you are demanding a refund then maybe you shouldn't have been spending that money on a football match in the first place. So I'm not having that by not getting a refund people could be in financial dire straights. In any case i'm sure the club will offer refunds for those not able to attend the new date (if there is one) but blimey the decision was only made on Friday, give them chance to at least have a discussion about it before bombarding the them with phone calls.

surely the club would be insured for this kind of event???

Only a tight fucker would ask for money back on this season ticket, but soon we will be into that time of year when the club put the season tickets for the next season up for sale. If we are still in this situation how many are going to be willing to shell out £300 upwards for the possibility that their might be some football, especially when the economic realities of this really hit home? How will clubs our size survive with a significant drop in cash flow at a time of year when they have no other income?

I wouldn’t worry about how this season ends for us, I would worry about if we still have a club at all.

Could well have seen the last of players like Dickie & Brannagan if this drags out past the summer.

Well said Ste. I've had to cancel a trip to the States and fortunately have got every penny back for flights/hotels etc. If I hadn't, I would have felt very hard done by. However, asking for any refund on my season ticket hasn't even crossed my mind and if the season is declared null and void, I wouldn't seek any money on the basis that I want OUFC to thrive so it's a different relationship than with airlines/hotels who I will move between depending on value for money and convenience. Me and OUFC are lifelong partners even though there have been challenging times!

If others who perhaps don't feel such an affinity to OUFC want a refund, then that's fair enough. I would hope however, that very few season ticket holders fall into that category.

Yes - as others have said, what an opportunity for the Premier League to help out here with some grants from their significant surplus. Would be amazing PR but I won't hold my breath. EFL meeting today to discuss what can be done.

We have to remember that some PL clubs will also have significant cash flow issues. This is massively unprecedented and it's not as easy as taking money off one club to give to another.

Anyone asked for an iFollow cancellation? I’ve just emailed and hoping they don’t mess me around

I think the premier league will help us out by taking a couple of players off us cheaply, Dickie and Brannigan will go for what we would of considered peanuts until this week but we will all be pretty grateful now as it might, just, hopefully see us through this.

The loss of earnings from not holding more home games this season is approximately £200-300k. We will not need to sell players to cover that!!
