Just announced, all games off until 3rd April.

It's probably a good choice, but I'm still feeling narked

It's a natural feeling to feel pissed off. It's having something taken away from you without it being your fault. Basic human psychology. That said, it's the only rational decision...games behind closed doors are not football for me, you try watching one without your mind wandering. What I AM peed off about is that the Bundesliga is going ahead at the weekend but not after Tuesday, I mean what's the bloody point of that. Just postpone the lot!

Gutted, had flu all week so been stuck in doors (no coronavirus). I was really looking forward to a weekend of sport, F1 and Football. Now I'll have to f'ing shopping with the Mrs!!

Common sense dictates that it isn't to do with crowds in the first instance it's the playing staff and squads..which are at risk and you cannot put together teams if everyone is quarantined..end of.

I wonder how the EFL will restart the league season? We have 3 games against MK(H), Wycombe(A) and Pompey(H), then on April 4th when t restarts we are away to Rochdale.
I suspect that the date might get extended, seeing as the number of people effected by the virus just keeps growing. This could be a long season or we just might get promoted as we're 3rd if they end the season now..

Yes if - and I realise it's a big IF - it does restart on 4th April then as you say we have 3 games to fit in - so in theory you could squeeze them in midweek and still finish the season on time - eg we could play Tuesday 7th, Tuesday 21st (not the 14th as that's after the Easter weekend and we have the Cov game on the BH Monday), and Tuesday 28th.
I guess that would be the best case scenario as then the season would still finish on time and play offs not affected.
Or they could simply extend the season by 3 weeks but then do they add the missing games into the 3 weeks at the end, that could be fun as we would end up playing Wycombe and Pompey as the last 2 games.
Lots of questions we will just have to see how it all pans out.

Probably the correct decision. Wildly frustrating but matches going ahead does seem a big risk.

What do we reckon the latest they can delay the season before they call the whole thing off would be? End of June (when player contracts end)?

Obvious silver lining to all this is that we would surely get promoted if the situation remains as is. Top 3 teams go up, no way playoffs can be justified. If that does happen that Ruffels goal will go down in OUFC folklore!

To be honest, its a far better plan than the behind closed door farces i have watched this week. So difficult to get intensity into a game with no supporters.

Im kinda wondering what happens if the April date is extended, and the season runs on into the summer. Some clubs will surely have some players who are OOC and move on with a couple of crucial games to go??

ok obviously if top 3 went up but for the relegated teams it would be tough for Tranmere as they’ve been on a run and could’ve got out of the bottom 3

Bad decision. The government said football stadiums could continue to operate and part of the rationale behind this is it's plan to push the peak towards the warmer weather. The arses who run football believe they know better and choose to ignore government policy when, by allowing games to continue they are in a no lose position.

The correct answer was to allow games to go ahead and consider postponements on a game by game basis. Kicking the can down to what may well prove to be a more difficult part of road at this stage is completely wrong and a ridiculous decision in the current circumstances.

These ostriches will now happily put their heads back into the sand only to pull them out in April to find themselves with a potentially more difficult situation than one they could have mitigated by carrying on with fixtures for the time being.

Ridiculous decision made by people just covering their backs.
It won't stop the spread of the virus.
How many clubs will fold as a result of this?

With Johnson in charge of the government, “ignoring government policy” seems a pretty sensible course of action.

Not disagreeing with the decision but the timing is very unfortunate for us; probably the most inform team in the league with virtually everyone fit since Woodburn and Mous were about to return. Will be interesting to see what happens, whole situation is a mess

I'd go along with that but the medical and scientific advisors advocate the strategy being adopted and "flattening the curve" seems like a sensible try at this stage

Woodburn’s relationship with us is doomed!
