Corbyns Shadow cabinet member Dianne Abott was mocked for her mathamatical errors, conversely, Bojo & Co are not afforded the same consideration by the red top press or TV political commentators, hmmmm?

Lies, damn lies and statistics!

This government have been trying to mug us off with their official figure for years.

Wonder if it would also be possible for this "statistically competent" government to give some figures of individuals in multiple employment and those in partial employment who would like to be in full time employment?

The number of unemployed and the number of people economically inactive are different things. That said, Patel was still talking B*****s. Those 8.5m are mainly students, the disabled, the retired, etc. They're not in a position to work anyway.

Economically Inactive? Not a term I've heard before. Retired people or school children, for example?
She referred to people between 18 and 65.
Most of those were retired, students, carers, long term sick

students, disabled, single mothers/parents, carers in that 'group' too ..... oh and it probably includes spongers, scroungers, and benefit cheats too ( if the sun, daily mail, express etc are to be believed) ?

One of the areas where Trump's economic reforms have been helping US citizens is among those deemed as economically inactive - those not actively seeking work and deemed to be on their couch.

For instance, for us it would mean Extinction Rebellion supporters ;)

Lets not forget Trump will be the worst thing to happen to America...................

Apart from....... the lowering of unemployment (especially amongst ethnic groups!), the increase in average earnings, percentage growth in GDP and a steady increase in the stock market.

Now imagine if Boris achieves similar even starting from a better place...

Wondering if the clause about being able to speak English as a criteria for remaing 'here' in Dominic Cummings Pritti Patel's latest policy announcement may see an abundance of deportations soon?

innit bruv

one of many 'downsides' to Brexit ... predictions are far less International touring bands and acts will be visiting post Brexit .
Ok I dont get this.
For all non EU acts things presumably dont change. So US, Australians, African bands nothing changes.
This therefore means that it will be harder for European acts to come to the UK.
With music, song acts make their money from touring now? So some bureaucracy wont put some off.
Or am I missing something?

little money in touring unless its stadium sized venues- merchandise is where the chance to make a few £ is for small / up and coming bands, easy enough to knock merch out online though

* Ive yet to hear what the EU stance will be for acts, bands , artists -including specialist DJs ( yep, I have a vested interest, as I get a few bookings in Europe myself)

This is my industry. I mentioned multiple times in the past that we categorically weren’t ready and that it would severely impact us in ways that we couldn’t even prepare for, but apparently it was nonsense.

I would be happy to spend time highlighting every last way that we’re going to be impacted by this, but I fear people would neither care nor believe me, so it would be a giant waste of my time.

EDIT: What this doesn’t even really touch on is how much it will impact UK acts / touring companies touring the other way. It also doesn’t go into how all the US acts - which is an enormous proportion of all touring acts - will now be infinitely more likely to use EU based touring companies for rigging and logistics than UK based ones, not to mention merchandising companies and so on.

I don't want this BS, I want the old project fear back. Frogs falling from the sky, worldwide recession, 500,000 jobs lost, world war III, medicine and food shortages.

A band has to fill in a little bit of paperwork and plan their tour in advance?? Boo hoo. "Artists" don't deserve special treatment.

So Ryan, are you involved in non EU and EU countries?
Presumably non EU countries will be the same for artists going to their countries and ttem coming here?
