General Jan transfer window

We seem to think it is a given that any owners of the Club should subsidise it? Why?
Because that is what owners who actually like and respect their football clubs do when necessary. Plenty of football club owners may see their clubs as just any old disposable business, but who wants owners like that for their club?

I really don’t get the point of having to sell in the January window.
Baptist’s Branagan, Dickie don’t suddenly become bad players so if they are good enough now they still will be at the end of the season
The reason we should scrap Jan window is because it is unfair on most clubs who have players leaving late and then can’t replace them plus there is a limited supply of players.
I think the answer would be to allow more loans from Jan onwards but any deals done would have to wait until the end of the season eg Atkinson at Eastleigh

From the scraps of information I've seen, Hamer looks more like a defensive RB than attacking wing back. Was he ever on your Cadden replacement radar @Shosho ?
Thought he was a centre back who can play right back as opposed to an out and out right back?

Whatever he is it doesn’t look like he gets forward much judging from this cheeky so and so...

I have woken up feeling less distressed about all this than I was last night. We said all along that Baptiste would be the one we’d choose to go of our ‘big three’ prospects (CB, RD), and Fosu, There’s not much we can do if the clause is met. It’s disappointing but it is what it is.

It’s the Baptiste one which still kind of a shitter tho. The timing is s**t (why would Brentford wait this late to make these offers??) and the fee is a bit galling. No one sensible disputes that we are a selling club, and if a deal is done in the right way and the price is right I don’t think anyone objects to the sales - think Roofe , Ledson, who went I think with everyone’s good blessing. Baptiste is, even the most positive amongst us must admit, worth more than 2.25m. I haven’t seen any commentary from any objective observer That doesn’t support what many of us believe, in that that is anything less than a bargain. But with a full strength side Baptiste probably doesn’t get in our best XI, and I think getting in a decent RB and / or ST today would move us on pretty sharpish.

On the building for the future point, we still have superb assets, and our recruitment has proved to be excellent for at least the last 18 months now (in terms of personnel we have brought in). The fact that in the last two summers we have identified players we can ‘flip’ for multi-100k profits in the space of months is so positive. There’s no reason to think we couldn’t do that again in the near future.

I will be at the Blackpool game cheering us on, as I think that now becomes a huge game to show we can still sustain this promotion push.

Moose just tweeted about Baptisie "Told more unlikely to move to Brentford" Didn't mention Medical issues.

Maybe elsewhere?

He’s weighing up his options. OM article states we have received multiple bids, he is speaking to several I would imagine...

I think he still goes by the end of the day...
