General Jan transfer window

We were second best last night in my view.

Brannagan has to be fit and playing otherwise we're in trouble. The team lacks balance without him. To be reductive:

Gorrin- tackle
Brannagan- pass
Baptiste- dribble

I know they all do those but they're their main attributes- and Brannagan is most balanced out of all 3. He's also the most effective on the patterns of play and the game- easily.

It's basic, admittedly. But it's what I done fink.

Also Ruffels is only just fine at League 1. Nothing more.

before saturday we had not conceded a league goal since August yet some now think our defenders are not any good.

it took a deflected goal and 2 pieces of magic from Man City to unlock our defence but i guess we rode our luck in that game and others then !!!!

But the full back issue is not down to injury. Its down to sound recruitment. It always seems to me that KR is obsessed with getting midfielders in. We have needed real LB cover all season, Berkoe was never going to be that player yet!! He does tend to overlook the defence and attack where we always seem to be stretched for alternatives.

KR has stated that he wants a LB

I for one fully endorse the notion of selling someone who is having a poor run of form. Whenever my laptop has a ‘spinny wheel’ moment I just throw it down the stairs or pop it out the window.

To get back on topic - definitely need two full backs for proper competition if not to supersede anybody, and yes, I do think another forward option. Especially if Agyei is being loaned out. Mackie can’t be allowed to be second choice or a rotating co-headliner as it were, which he seems to be lately. So that’s three more needed ideally, but will we get them?
Brizzle C have stopped scoring. There is surely still a risk that Taylor is recalled. We desperately need a striker

Potentially, you are of course correct. They could indeed still recall and play him. Seeing as this phantom 2.5 year deal he had supposedly already signed months ago doesn’t seem to exist. I hope that doesn’t happen, as he’s my favourite and I love him very much, and love his face and hair and legs and bum and everything else about him.

True but that would be incredibly short-term-ist from Bristol City.

If they were really interested in recalling him (based on his form), they would probably have already done so. If they were to have an injury crisis, I would be more worried.

Hope you are right, but we have been a bit toothless last 3 or 4 games, and whilst we seem well equipped in Defence and Midfield, should Taylor get injured we are very light up top. Goals win divisions

Agree with this

If you look at Doyle from Bradford City, he has scored16/17 goals for our neighbours so they have rightly recalled him. Of course he may go out on loan again but they will get more for him.

Taylor’s record isn’t bad but it may be a cunning plan by KR to play him every other game so Bristol will think he’s not scoring that many

We do need another decent striker though

It’s a Baldrick level of plan if so! Would like to think a Championship club would pay slightly more attention to one of their players out on loan!

The problem for City recalling Taylor is that he hasn’t really done much for them over the past couple of years in the Championship. He’s probably not likely to be seen as the solution then, unless they can find no other alternatives...

I agree with this. We didnt recall Kane Hemmings when he was scoring goals at Mansfield because the club had found out his limitations at our level. Bristol City probably feel the same about Taylor. I dont think we need to worry.

I thought Mous was excellent last night. I'm not sure what your definition of a defence not being very good is. My view is that not conceding any goals and limiting a team above us in the table to not really testing our keeper means that our defence had a pretty decent night.
Some people ?

There wasn’t anybody best last night both teams had to play in atrocious conditions so we weren’t second best both teams played to the best of f their ability in conditions that I’m surprised were not called of around 5. So no we weren’t second best
