Potential New Ground

Well there ate very few supporter owned clubs.
So almost all clubs are owned by ' investors'. Many with very different investors to FK.
Yes and supporter owned clubs often find a harsh reality of life bites as per current issues at AFC Wimbledon whose supporters' group can't at the moment afford to finish their new ground which is currently in development - sound familiar?

Mk is a badly designed stadium in my opinion it felt colder than the kassam does. Let's build our stands closer to the pitch, a single tier bowl with steeper gradient seating, executive boxes above running the length of both sides of the pitch. And no gap between the stand ending and the roof starting. We can then all be topless in winter like the geordies.
Sorry OX14, there are various access & HSE design criteria now which set the touchline distance from the first seating row - & we are never going to see the 'closeness' that you (and me) would like to see. Agree about the steeper 'rake'. The reason MK "felt" cold was that the pitch was over 6 metres below ground level - it used to be a gravel pit but IMO very clever that you enter at ground level all around the stadium.

As I keep on repeating, investors are here for a reason to make money.
Building a new stadium doesn't guarantee the club anything on or off the pitch, IF it were to ever go ahead it would all be about the fine detail of any contract, there is no one on here or at the club I expect who know any of that detail, given the thing is still in lets see if it's worth spending our money stage for the investors.

I don't want to get into another long argument, but thought I'd respond for a little balance.

It's simply not true to say that building a new stadium doesn't guarantee the club anything on or off the pitch. Either the stadium and club will be owned by the same holding company allowing direct funding from one to the other, or an agreement will be in place to allow the club to gain income from matchday and associated revenue streams to finance the footballing side of things, without paying a rental fee.

Can this be guaranteed? Pretty much! Zaki and others have said it before and you either believe them or you don't. But to say that no one on here or at the club has any details is again simply wrong.

Ok maybe we can't set the first row any closer, but if the stands are steeper like they are in the North stand then you feel closer and get a better view. I would say the main factor of why it was cold was not that the pitch is below ground level ( I did quite like that aspect), , but the gap between the stands ending and the roof starting. Not only did you get blinded by the sun , but the wind howling through there we might aswell have sat on the roof. These are easy issues to solve.

Didn’t spot that until you mentioned it!

I stand by original statement, all your guesswork is fantasy unless you know the final details and no one knows that.
Regardless of soundbites from the club, I think you are clutching on straws if you believe anyone knows what the investors are doing.

Imagine a young couple you know who have saved a deposit for a house and have their finances all approved. They have started having a look at the housing market, but have yet to decide exactly where they want to buy or the exact style of house they want.

If they then said that they would hopefully have a house by the summer would you describe that as fantasy?

We might not know the fine details, but we do know that the club is actively looking and that those involved have the finances to make this happen.

And do you genuinely believe that these details haven't been shared with key people at the club? Or that others have no knowledge of these plans? Because the details haven't been made public (and it's to the credit of everyone involved that they haven't!) it really doesn't mean that it's all guesswork and fantasy. I would suggest that the refusal to accept what it is so blatantly clear to everyone else is far more fanciful.

The simple answer to your question is no they don’t, no one can know the final details of the investors plans until it takes fruition, if a stadium is built how the loan is structured and where debt is put, how the current club debt is going to be sorted out.
Talking of debt, any idea of any departures in the transfer window to balance rising debt or will the increase of the attendances and the cup runs that were not budgeted for help losing players this window?

Umm, yes they do! Tiger, Zaki, NM and KR have been involved in a number of meetings with the other board members (investors in your world!) The plans for the club have been outlined to those involved, and this includes on-field plans (promotion, investment in youth etc) and off-field plans (financial stability, training ground, stadium). You talk about loans/debts etc but have absolutely no idea how the finances will be structured. The investors(?) have huge personal wealth. They can finance pretty much anything at the club without making a dent into their bank balances. So the structure for repaying the investment can be offset against future income from associated businesses whilst allowing the club to control it's own revenue. Fantasy?

Again, you have absolutely no idea about rising debts or our financial situation? I would suggest that rather than increasing debts we are nearer to balancing our books this season. We got £2m+ for Gavin Whyte, plus a sell on for Roofe. We cleared the high earners in Nelson, Holmes, Garbutt and Carruthers, and did much better business in the summer. Woodburn and Thorpe aren't costing us much, Taylor and Cadden came in without transfer fees, and Ageyi and Forde are on fairly low wages too. It is only Fosu and Moore who came in on deals comparable with those who left.

In addition, we have had 3 sell outs in the league cup (so far) and tv money for Man City. We had tv money for the FA cup against H&Y with a better than decent chance of making round 4 and should see 20k at the next two home games, with some big games still to come.

We also have a very settled and happy squad. So, do I think anyone will leave? I don't know. But do we NEED to sell? Absolutely not. Any one leaving will only happen if it's too good an offer for either the club or the player (or both). But then maybe this is just fantasy too?!

So you say I have no idea then put forward an answer which is your guess to the way it’s going to be structured, no wonder people are laughing at you and some of your ridiculous comments.
As for your second answer thank you. It was a question not an attack on you ?

Anyway, what is wrong with buying a bungalow (the Breeze Block) and converting it into a 7 bed executive house (our new ground) ?
Easy planning, footings etc in place, transport is accessible........ seems far more sensible to me but hey ho.

A real problem with that is there is no scope around it for our investors to make their return on as the bowlplex etc. is all owned by Uncle Firoz.

Will you let us all know if the young couple find somewhere. I hope they d, it’s so hard to get on the property ladder these day!
