Ex Player Dan Agyei

That goal looked a lot like the goals from his Youtube showreel.. Quick turn, nifty feet, pace, strength and nice little finish. Hopefully he can kick on now and at least make an impact from the bench. Sykes did well yesterday in parts but he's not a forward, let's try Agyei in the front three and see if he can bang a few in.

I think it's good that we have differently skilled players for certain situations. Sykes is more technical with close control, can get to good positions to provide assists. Agyei can roll off defenders playing a high line and use pace and power to get in behind. Hall cuts inside and is a threat with his long shots. Taylor is a born goalscorer in the box. Mackie will run until his legs drop off and unsettle defences. And Fosu just has all of the above!

Would it be criminal or not to use Agadoo?

Hold my coat......ahem.

Agyei do, do, do
Score another for the U's
Agyei do, do, do
make defenders look like fools
From the left, from the right off his head or off his knee
something, something, something, something and we're off to Wemberlee.

:ROFLMAO:

Needs a bit of work I feel however it is now my Monday earworm!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Dan was our 12th player to score a league goal on Saturday (including Dabo's OGs). Surely that must be a record after only 17 matches? There must have been plenty of entire seasons when there were fewer than that.

I'm not sure that in all cases, having lots of goalscorers is a good thing. It can be an indication of an unsettled side. I would have thought MApp's first season had more varied goalscorers than when we were promoted.

In the case of this season, we have a settled side and everyone is contributing and that is definitely a positive.

Just back after a weekend trip to Essex. Delighted for Dan opening his account! Also pleased for Mark Sykes who, since it was floated about going out on loan has made some positive contribution. Hope they both get more playing time at Walsall and Exeter; the squad is definitely becoming more substantial. Top work, Mr Robinson.

The list of 12 doesn't include Mous, Baptiste or Hall so it could easily be 15+ by the end of the season.

Statto Challenge Accepted!

In 2014-15 (first season under Mapp), we had seventeen different goalscorers. But only two of them scored at least five goals.
[those 17 - Mullins, Rose, Hylton, Potter, MacDonald, Baldock, O'Dowda, Collins, Long, Burns, Barnett, Vassell, Jakubiak, Roofe, Roberts, Campbell, Hoban]

In 2015-16 (promotion season under Mapp), we had only thirteen different goalscorers. But six of them scored at least five goals.
[Baldock, Roofe, Waring, Sercombe, Hoban, Hylton, MacDonald, O'Dowda, Lundstram, Taylor, Maguire, Bowery, Dunkley]

So yeah - more goalscorers clearly does not necessarily mean a better team...….

Errrr, no - the names in my post above are in order of Squad #, not # of goals.
Hylton & Roofe did in 2014-15, and Roofe, Sercombe, Hylton, O'Dowda, Bowery & MadDonald did in 2015-16.

Apologies, I mis-read that!

For what it's worth, I thought Hoban was going to push on. Alas, I was much mistaken.
