That is a shocking headline. Facts are
Oxford fans sung while the servicemen walked onto the pitch
It was announced that the last post would be played followed by a minutes silence would be ended by the referee
what actually happened is that once the servicemen were in place that was a period of 3 to 4 mins where there was silence while Pompey got their act together and got people into the right place
the teams then came out, the last post was played and immediately it finished the players broke.
so actually Pompey ballsed it up and pretty none of they said would happen did happen
game kicked off at 3.05 so a sure sign they made a mess of it
I think the service men stayed on the pitch to complete the minutes silence by themselves whilst the ref and players ran around getting the pitch ready for the game.
It was a very bizarre five or so minutes of silence wondering what was happening with players still to come out of the tunnel.

Taylor is really the variety that makes us a hard team to play against. We haven't just gone 3 lumps up top, the squad is balanced and Taylor offers us something different for the opposition - the more he gets match fit, the more we are seeing what he can do for the team. Credit to the lad for working at his career and not just become a non-leaguer.
I hope the players can really stick their feet up and rest for a few days. A step away from the grind will do them wonders before things get busy again. If we're careful, good things are on the horizon

Because this wasn't the minutes silence. That happened about 7 or 8 minutes, later when all the players, were on the pitch.

It was a right cock up. Even the Pompey fans were saying how only their club could make such a mess of it. Mind you the ref showed at this point what we were in for, the first of a dozen crazy decisions. . He pulled the players away before it had finished. I felt sorry for the old chap out there at the end. It was complete silence from our fans during the actual minute silence. Great point though. That cross from Henry was top drawer.
