I think on Saturday after the 3rd goal went in on 78 minutes, they should have brought Agyei on for Mackie, but instead they waited until the 88th minute. Give him some game time!

Yes I thought the same.

It seems a bit mean to be critical of the manager when he got so much right on Saturday, however Mackie was running on fumes for the last 10 mins he was on the pitch, he needed to come off.

We really do appear to be keeping Agyei wrapped up in cotton wool, perhaps on medical advice?

If you accumulate 5 yellows in the first 19 league games then you are suspended for 1 match. Mackie, Brannagan, Gorrin and Taylor are one yellow away from a suspension for the next 6 league matches.

Yes, thanks both - found it. A bit obscure that you have to click on the 'One Caution Away' tab to see that though (EFL, you need a web designer!).

Probably slightly academic - Mackie WILL argue himself into the book in the next six games and both Brannagan and Gorrin WILL mistime a tackle (which is all it seems to take nowadays!). Taylor might manage six without a yellow.

Mackie was also struggling with his back. He was grimacing every time he ran!!

Must admit that Agyei looked the part, fast ,good size, challenged well in the air , if he comes good I think an absolute beast at our level
Ive a feeling he will come good ... needs a run in the matchday squad first though, hes rarely made the bench of late ... If Taylor hadnt been ill last sat, Agyei would probably have missed out a place on the bench then too

Hopefully he gets a run in some of the U23 games so that he get match fitness.
It sounds like he still cant play 90 minutes. It will be tough for him to get ahead of Taylor and Mackie but he needs to get properly fit and then take his chance when it comes along.

We played with 6 on the bench so would’ve been on it regardless, probably wouldn’t have played mind

Nowt wrong with that for me. We're quite fortunate in that we have both A) Two senior strikers doing well, so we don't NEED a third option at present, and B) Plenty of goals coming from midfield, so the onus isn't purely on those two strikers to bag the goals. If introducing him slowly is what's required, go for it I say, as we don't actually need him at this point. Hopefully will be a superb option off the bench in the run in in a few months time.

We could just do without Brannagan & Gorrin, or Taylor & Mackie picking up a yellow each in the same game.

Our squad is deep enough to cover the loss of one of each pair for a game - but we'll be stretched if we have to go without both of either of those pairings.....

Should we officially sanction a couple of late game yellows just before an ‘easier’ game? There, I said it ?
